Old School Runescape is now available for iOS and Android devices.

Jagex announced the news this morning, following an announcement that over 1 million “pre-orders” have been made for the game. The mobile version features the full Old School Runescape experience, complete with cross-platform gameplay between PC and mobile devices.

Previously, Old School Runescape Mobile was available to those who held a paid “member” status. Now that the game has seen its official release, players all over the world can begin downloading and playing the game, even if they don’t own an active membership.

“Today’s launch of Old School RuneScape on mobile leads the charge as we bring two of the world’s most popular MMORPGs to the world’s most popular gaming devices.” Said Phil Mansell, CEO of Jagex. “We believe in taking our living games to wherever our players want them and, with the mobile editions offering full and seamless cross-platform play with PC, players can now continue their adventures on either platform and on the move. The arrival of Old School RuneScape on mobile, and our ongoing work to also bring RuneScape to mobile, is testament to our investment in the continued growth for both titles and building our vision for living games.”

Old School Runescape was released in 2013, after Jagex received backlash due to Runescape’s many updates, changing the game drastically. The company vowed to deliver a product that would meet the expectations of the nostalgic players.

The mobile version of Old School Runescape is available for iOS devices running iOS 10.0 or above and Android devices running 5.0 or above.

Fortnite Scams Are Even Worse Than You Thought

Fortnite Scams Are Even Worse Than You Thought

THE MOST POPULAR video game in the world is Fortnite which makes Fortnite scams potentially a very profitable endeavor. And while that point may seem obvious, the extent of Fortnite fakes on the web, along with how convincingly they mimic their inspirations, may still surprise you.

Fortnite opportunists have plagued the internet since the game’s launch; WIRED has previously looked at the scourge of fake app downloads connected to the game’s controversial Android launch. But a new report from security firm ZeroFox lays bare just how broadly these scams have proliferated across social media, YouTube, and thousands of domains.

“Once we started digging into it, we uncovered a lot of stuff,” says Zack Allen, director of threat operations at ZeroFox.

By the numbers, that “stuff” comprises over 4,770 live domains dedicated to Fortnite scams; 1,390 YouTube videos advertising malicious links with combined views in the millions; and hundreds of links on social media every day that lead to fraudulent destinations.

The fraud generally centers around V-Bucks, the in-game currency that players use to purchase various items and upgrades. V-Bucks cost real money; Fortnite is free to play but reportedly raked in a billion dollars in revenue by May for Epic Games, a significant chunk of which came from in-app purchases. Scammers typically try to lure people who’d rather not pay up, offering “V-Cash generators” and fake coupons in exchange for personal information, credit card numbers, or ad clicks that generate revenue for the crooks.

“The biggest thing that surprised us was the professionalism that went into some of these websites, where they would design some of these V-Bucks sites with a lot of skill,” says Allen. “They made it look really legitimate, they had awesome user experiences, and as you go deep into those things, they made it really hard for people to differentiate between what was legitimate and what was not.”

The sites generally encourage visitors to click ads in order to unlock V-cash, which never materializes. Some of them deploy clever tricks, too, to appear not just valid but active, with fake messages from pretend Fortnite fans appearing onscreen or fake comment sections full of phony satisfied customers.

The domains also often had security certificates issued by Let’s Encrypt, which simply means that they provide encrypted connections. It’s a popular technique among scammers because it makes any site appear safe, regardless of its actual intentions. “The issue here is not that phishing sites have certificates and use HTTPS,” says Let’s Encrypt head Josh Aas. “All websites, including phishing sites, should use HTTPS. The issue is that lock icons in browsers are misleading. Some people incorrectly interpret lock icons as a sign that a site's content is safe or trustworthy, and that's a completely separate issue from whether or not the connection is secure. “

The Fortnite scams ZeroFox tracked also stand out for their coordinated approach. “The more interesting ones that we found redirected from one social network to another. We’ve seen a lot of videos that would be linked from a post on Facebook, going to a video on YouTube, which then would link to a phishing or a scam domain,” says Allen. “It’s like they tried to connect a lot of these things to provide more of a sense of legitimacy to the victims. It builds trust.”

And while Fortnite scams have spread steadily for months, they lately seem to come in waves, says Ben Herzberg, head of threat research for security firm Imperva, which has also tracked these campaigns. That includes a recent surge around Labor Day and another at the end of last week. The platforms are generally responsive when alerted to these threats, but don't expect them to disappear anytime soon. The domains are too hard to shut down, and the racket is too lucrative. In July, Imperva suggested that Fortnite scammers are on track to collectively haul in over a million dollars in 2018.

“Basically, cybercriminals are always trying to make money,” says Herzberg. “It just works so well, why stop?”

As for protecting yourself, common sense seems to be the best antidote. The only way to get V-Bucks is within Fortniteitself. There are no shortcuts, no Epic Games-approved sites that will dispense them to you, especially not for clicking on junk ads.

Until people learn that lesson, though, Fortnite scams will continue to flood the web, and Fortnite scammers will continue to collect junk ads money and personal data from their victims. “When you put your address in a random form, when they know your age, etc., you don’t know where that will lead. It could have just been five minutes wasted on filling out a form, but it could be leading to worse,” says Herzberg. “Until Elon Musk buys Fortnite and cancels it.”

Need more V-bucks for infinite Monsters Adventures in Save the World or Vehement Butcher-Till-The-Last-One in Battle Royale? Anxious to substantial V-bucks whereas Daily quests and rewards can’t live up to your expectations at all? Stepping aside those so-called “legit V-bucks’ buying sites” while all they want is trying to rip you off? Don’t worry anymore, there is a cure for your anxiety and discontent – one professional website can generate tons of in-game currency on a daily basis, including V-bucks while trading to its customers through secured and fast line at a very reasonable price – MMOAH.

MMOAH is a well-reputed company which has been stepping into the in-game currency transactions industry for more than 8 years. Balloons Are Coming To 'Fortnite' -- Here's What They Do

Balloons Are Coming To 'Fortnite' -- Here's What They Do

A new item is coming to Fortnite: Battle Royale, likely in this week's coming update: Balloons.

The existence of said balloons was already found in the game's files, but we didn't know what they did or how they worked until now---though, to be fair until they're in the game and we can try them out we won't know exactly how they function.

But we do have an official description and the above image. The description reads: “Inflate balloons to defy gravity! Add balloons to increase your altitude!”

Like the Grappler and Jetpack before them, Balloons will give players the ability to reach new heights. I suspect they'll be a consumable that comes in stacks of around 10 (similar to the number of uses a Grappler has) though it's also possible that they're items you simply use and don't store in your inventory at all.

Still, the description makes them sound like consumables, and not just that, it sounds like you can use more than one at a time to increase how high you go. Like in the movie Up.

It should be interesting to see how this impacts the game. Unlike jetpacks and grappling hooks, balloons are fragile. They pop easily. I imagine enemies will be able to shoot them, potentially sending other players to their death (though with the new soaring mechanic in all modes, fall damage is much less common.)

In any case, we should be seeing balloons in the game Tuesday morning assuming Epic Games sticks to the studio's traditional update schedule. It strikes me as somewhat odd timing, what with the Halloween event going on and the Fortnitemares LTM. Releasing a balloon item would have made more sense during Fortnite's birthday event.

Better late than never, I suppose.

First Look At The Leaked Galaxy Skin Set

First Look At The Leaked Galaxy Skin Set

Galaxy skin returns but this time with a complete set!

Data miners have uncovered files to reveal the Galaxy Skin is coming back but this time as a complete set. The new additions to the Galaxy Skin set are:

DISCOVERY GLIDER

STELLAR AXE

GALACTIC DISC BACK-BLING

The Galaxy skin was part of the Samsung Galaxy 9 promotion where anyone who had purchased the new handset was offered the exclusive Galaxy skin for the game Fortnite.

It is unknown whether the Galaxy skin with the newly added galaxy cosmetics will be available to be purchased by anyone, but from within Fortnites‘ game data, it appears it will remain exclusive to Samsung Galaxy 9 owners, for now.

Also, the data suggest that If you own the skin already the Discovery Glider, Stellar Axe and the Galactic Disc Back-bling will be available to you at no extra cost!

Non-Samsung Galaxy 9 owners will have to look in admiration at anyone who dons the complete Galaxy skin set.

Fortnite’s “Save The World” Will Not Become Free-To-Play Until 2019

Fortnite’s “Save The World” Will Not Become Free-To-Play Until 2019

Fortnite certainly took the gaming industry by storm when it introduced its free to play Battle Royale mode. It set the gaming world on fire, everywhere you look Fortnite is part of the conversation. Whether its kids talking about it or the seemingly endless wall of merchandise that is being sold at most teen/kid focused stores. There is one thing that many people forget about Fortnite, and that is that it did not originally start as a Battle Royale game. Fortnite “Save The World” was a wave-based survival game, that had players building bases and scavenging for materials during the day, and then fighting off hordes of enemies during the night. It was originally released as a $39.99 standard edition with a promise that the game would go free to play sometime in 2018.  This, however, was before Fortnite Battle Royale blew up to the masses, now it looks like we will have to wait until 2019 if you want to experience the “Save The World” experience free of charge. In a blog post from Epic Games, they had this to say in regards to when “Save The World” would become free to play, and why they had to delay it.

We decided to move the free-to-play launch of Save the World out of this year. We’re working on a broad set of features, reworks, and backend system scaling we believe are needed to go free-to-play. Save the World has grown consistently since our launch in July 2017 and Fortnite overall has experienced unprecedented growth. Scaling up for the legions of player heroes who will be joining the fight is key to providing an excellent experience. This applies to all of our players, old and new, so we’re taking the time to get this right.

To thank our founders, both new and old, if you log in and play during the Fortnitemares Event, you’ll receive both Brainiac Jonesy and Skull Ranger Ramirez for free!

For those of you who want to start playing right now, we’ve got you. Starting this week, we’ll be hosting a 50% off sale for the Standard, Deluxe, Super Deluxe and Limited Founder’s packs.

With no official window of when “Save The World” will go free to play, all we can do is wait and see and wait for more info from Epic Games.

What do you think of this update? Let us know in the comments and don’t forget to check back for the latest gaming news and information.

Epic Games releases new FORTNITEMARES Teasers

Epic Games releases new FORTNITEMARES Teasers

On October 20th, 2018 Epic Games released the first Fortnitemares teaser through their social media pages. Fortnite has slowly been getting ready for the Fortnitemares Halloween event for a few weeks now with scary Halloween props popping up all over the map and the re-release of the Skull Trooper skin.

Read More — Fortnitemares Start date and how long will the event run for?

The first Fortnitemares teaser was captioned:

“Costumes and dancing, Partner up, be wise. They could be friendly, Or a ghoul in disguise. #Fortnitemares”.
Epic Games’ cryptic tweet alludes to the Ghoul Trooper skin possibly becoming available when Fortnitemare arrives. Looking at the image attached, will they treat us with a male version Ghoul Trooper?

The second Fortnitemares teaser released today was captioned with an appropriate poem:

“Tombstones quake, Keep your finger steady. The circle will close, Better be ready.”

The cube that has tirelessly been roaming the map since season 5 appears to be in shackles in this latest teaser. The Cube has been active over the last few days, drawing in all the runes it left around the Fortnite map, appearing to suck out their powers and revitalize the cube. So how will the cube wind up being held down with chains?

Could this be a metaphor for the cube, becoming  “Unchained” and unleashing its power? Or have the locals of Tilted Towers had enough of the cube destroying their building?

The third Fortnitemares teaser released on October 22, was captioned with another cryptic poem:

Take the shot, If you have enough to last. The wind calls out, “Fill your chambers, fast.” #Fortnitemares

The Forth Fortnitemares teaser released on October 23, was captioned with a Halloween inspired Poem:

The crack of lightning Illuminates your wins Arise, dark ones- The fight begins. #Fortnitemares

The fourth and last teaser for the Fortnitemares event has finally been released by Epic Games. This confirms the start date as Oct 24.

We’re excited to see what’s in store for the Cube and 2018’s Fortnite Halloween event – Fortnitemares. We’ll update this article once more information is available.

Fortnite's Floating Island Is Summoning Purple Cube Energy For 'Fortnitemares' Event

Fortnite's Floating Island Is Summoning Purple Cube Energy For 'Fortnitemares' Event

For those that have been with us since the beginning, this cube stuff has been going on a very long time. Technically, the saga of the cube in Fortnite: Battle Royale began in Season 4 with an epic rocket launch that tore a hole in the sky itself, leaving a crackling blue rift in the skybox for the rest of that season. The rift then summoned Kevin the cube, who spent most of Season 5 flopping around the map creating purple runes and low gravity zones before melting into Loot Lake, back when it was still Loot Lake. We can see the fruits of Kevin's labor now, as he sits at the bottom of the massive floating island that's spent the last few weeks activating said runes with its swirling cube energy, presumably the same power that has infected the entire house on the island with a bad case of "more cubes." Now, the Island has moved back over its original location over Leaky--formerly Loot-Lake, and the saga continues.

Whatever the Cube/island is doing right now, it appears to be crescendoing. A few days ago the runes rose out of the ground and then made their way to to the island before falling back down. Now, there's a bolt of purple energy coming down out of the sky towards the island, clearly preparing for something big. It can be hard to guess what that big thing will be, but I can't imagine that it's a coincidence that the Halloween 'Fortnitemares event is starting this week.

The leading theory regarding Loot/Leaky Lake is volcano-related. Volcanoes were featured prominently on the cube-adjacent "Dark-bomber" skin, and it would be a decent way to shake up what was until the beginning of the season a sort of lackluster area: both Loot Lake and Moisty Mire were formed around the idea of mobility-limiting water, but that was before Fortnite developed its particularly hyper-mobile character. Plenty of the game's less interesting areas have been axed since then, and now it feels like it's time for the lake to go.

Regardless, I'll be glad when all this cube business finishes up. The comet was a great plotline for how contained it felt: comet appeared, comet got bigger, comet smashed into the map, print. As anyone who's spent time with long-running TV shows can tell you, you need a balance between continuing plots and resolution, but this cube business has been one big cliffhanger since it's started, and it's getting exhausting. I'll be happy when the island does something big and then we start a new, non-Cube related plotline.

Fortnite's New 'Fortnitemares' Tease Reveals Chained Cube Cosmetic

Fortnite's New 'Fortnitemares' Tease Reveals Chained Cube Cosmetic

It may be the middle of a season, but Fortnite is teasing the upcoming “Fortnitemares” in-game event as something akin to a new season launch all the same with a series of teasers, the second of which just dropped today.

Fortnite released the above image onto social media this morning, along with another nursery rhyme:

Tombstones quake,

Keep your finger steady.

The circle will close,

Better be ready.

“Tombstones quake” could be a reference to the return of the zombie “Ghoul Trooper” skin, which was also teased in yesterday’s rhyme, as I’m not sure what else rises from the dead (mummies?). Keep your finger steady and the circle will close seem to refer to more traditional Fortnite mechanics, ie. shooting and escaping the shrinking circle, though I do wonder if “the circle will close” could have something to do with the Cube and its runes.

That would make sense, given that you can see that the image part of the teaser is of a rune cube in chains. It’s not “the” Cube, the big one that rolled around the map last season and has been floating around under Loot Lake island this season, but it’s a cube shape with one of the eight runes on it all the same, and the big Cube island appears like it’s heading back to Loot Lake to do…something, which may coincide with the launch of the Fortnitemares event.

Fortnite Battle Bus Gets Equipped With An Engine Upgrade

Fortnite Battle Bus Gets Equipped With An Engine Upgrade

Ever since the release of Fortnite Battle Royale, Epic Games have kept themselves quite busy by adding in more and more content to the game with every passing week or so. Just a couple of days back, we saw a brand new update for the game, titled Fortnite Patch v6.10. And well today, the developers are here with a couple of post-patch changes, which include some pretty major changes for the in-game Fortnite Battle Bus.

Fortnite Battle Bus update

According to Fortnite’s official announcement, the Battle Bus is test driving a brand new engine upgrade which is set to increase the traveling speed by 25%. Now, though this will not have an impact within the game, it will surely make the matches slightly shorter as the time players take to drop down on the map will reduce significantly.

Apart from the relatively new “Thanking” feature and the cosmetic changes, the Fortnite Battle Bus has not received much love since the game’s launch. However, since the Bus plays a vital role in the game, it is good to see that the developers are focusing on making this feature a little more interesting as well. Hopefully, if the community appreciates these changes, we are going to be seeing similar changes in the future.

So, what are you waiting for? Get back in the game and see just how much this new Battle Bus upgrade changes the game. And once you are done, comment below and let us know what you think of the changes? Do you think this engine upgrade is what the game needs?

Rocket League: Cross Platform Play Delayed Until 2019

Rocket League: Cross Platform Play Delayed Until 2019

The idea of destroying our friends at any game we wish has been a desire for any gamer for as long as there have been games being made. The invention of different systems made this joy harder to be had, as you had to have the exact same system as your friend to enjoy destroying them as you rightfully deserved.

That said, Rocket League – your favorite soccer car game – has been trying to fix this issue for quite some time. However, to those of you hoping to be enjoying the fruits of Psyonix’s labor in the immediate future, I am sorry to say you’re going to have to wait a little longer.

In an announcement brought to us by Psyonixs’ blog page, they told us that “While our goal was to release RocketID before the end of 2018, we’ve made the difficult decision to push its release into early 2019″. As this is the third time such news has filtered through our ears, it shouldn’t be too surprising. However, a feature like RocketID, which will allow me to create parties with friends across all platforms, is definitely one that seems worth waiting for.

To soften the blow of this disappointing news, they added some good news for Sony gamers everywhere – stating that “The good news is that with Sony’s recent announcements regarding full cross-platform functionality, we can now make additional changes to prepare RocketID for ALL platforms should we receive permission to do so!”

While Sony was reluctant before in regards to cross-platform play, their latest stance seems to be that they are definitely open to playing in the sandbox with other kids. Though admittedly it seems more like they are dipping their toe into the stream as opposed to jumping in full tilt like everyone else. As a Sony gamer at heart, I can only hope that they change their mind as many of my games only exist on the PS4. So here’s hoping that I’ll get to destroy you all on the pitch sometime soon – no matter the console.

Breaking news, my friend! Anyone who needs substantial Rocket League Accessaries at a reasonable price, we have a treat for you now.MMOAH is providing a great service for Rocket Leagues' Accessaries for sale, along with big discounts as well.
