Fortnite Is Now On Android For Everyone

Fortnite Is Now On Android For Everyone

If you’re aching to play Fortnite on your Android device, the time has come.

Epic Games announced today that Fortnite is available for all players on Android devices — no longer just those who were invited to the earlier, private beta. The game first launched on Android alongside the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, and only owners of that and other recent Samsung Galaxy devices had to access the game until now.

Players who want to download the game will have to go to Epic’s specific Fortnite website, as the game isn’t available to download through Google’s Play Store. Epic’s CEO, Tim Sweeney, told The Verge in August that the company wants a “direct relationship with our customers on all platforms where that’s possible.”

“The great thing about the Internet and the digital revolution is that this is possible, now that physical storefronts and middlemen distributors are no longer required.”

Fortnite is already available for iOS players but through Apple’s App Store. Sweeney told Eurogamer that, if Epic Games had the option, the company would bypass distributing the game through the App Store, but that’s not possible. Still, Sweeney told Polygon in August that he’s hopeful more openness will occur across all platforms.

“Already you can purchase Fortnite V-Bucks or in-game items on PC, Mac, iOS, or Android and use them on all of those other devices, and even on some combination of console platforms,” Sweeney said. “We’d love to see the whole circle completed.”

To download Fortnite on your Android device, go to the Fortnite website and scan the QR code.

Fortnite: New Quadcrasher Vehicle Is Live, PS4 Now Upgrades To 1440p

Fortnite: New Quadcrasher Vehicle Is Live, PS4 Now Upgrades To 1440p

Fortnite gets a new vehicle today, the Quadcrasher. It’s a quad bike with a snowplow on the front. Radical.

The new vehicle comes in the 6.10 patch, which also brings with it a refined Disco Domination mode and the new in-game tournaments.

PS4 players who play on a 4K TV will now notice Fortnite now renders at 1440p rather than 1080p.

But it’s the Quadcrasher that’s the headline addition, letting up to two players blaze across the map with a speed boost and smash through buildings. you’ll also punt other players into the air if you hit them with a boost.

The Quadcrasher is a natural evolution of vehicles and a few other elements from previous Fortnite upgrades. Epic began testing vehicles with the shopping trolley, before upgrading that to the ATK golf kart, a quicker way of getting multiple players around the map with a neat little speed boost system.

Walls have also become less of a barrier to players with the new Shadow Stones found in Corrupted Areas. Consume one and the player turns wraith-like, able to float through solid objects made of wood, stone, and metal. Now you don’t have to just float through them, you can smash them down.

Here are the full patch notes for Fortnite v6.10

BATTLE ROYALE

  • LIMITED TIME MODE: DISCO DOMINATION
  • Summary
  • It’s time for the ultimate dance-off. Dance Floors have spawned around the Battle Royale island. Take them over by clearing out any enemies and then dancing to raise a disco ball up from the floor. The team that fills their meter the fastest by capturing and defending the dance floors will win the match!
  • What’s New?
  • Reduced all bandage spawns by 50%.
  • Removed all Common weapons.
  • increased the variability of where you can spawn by 30% along your sides storm circle.
  • Brought in the side dancefloors closer to the Storm edge.
  • Reduced max respawn distance by 20%.
  • WEAPONS + ITEMS
  • The Port-a-Fortress has been disabled as we work to resolve some issues related to this item.
  • The drop rate for Port-a-Fort increased from 3.05% to 4.89% while Port-a-Fortress is disabled.
  • The goal is to keep the drop rate of Port-a-Fort the same as if both items were enabled to help with the completion of Challenges.
  • Bug Fixes
  • Guided Missile no longer fires the wrong direction
  • Players will no longer permanently attach to a Supply Drop when grappling to it.
  • Attempting to fire while reloading the Double Barrel Shotgun will no longer interrupt the animation.
  • Weapon equips animations no longer skip when simultaneously attempting to sprint and target.
  • GAMEPLAY
  • Quadcrasher

  • Launch players into the air by smashing into them.
  • You can now view and change Edit Controls separately from Combat and Build Controls in the controller menu.

  • Added an option to Builder Pro that allows for building as soon as you switch to the piece, instead of selecting first and then placing. This allows for faster building without a preview.
  • Added an option that allows for edit hold timing to be adjusted.
  • Opening the Emote Picker with a controller will happen when the button is released while holding the button will replay the emote that was last played.
  • Bug Fixes
  • Fixed inconsistencies with the damage trap not triggering properly.
  • Allow slight movement when using a consumable with Sprint by Default enabled. This will help match how it works without Sprint by Default enabled
  • Fixed problem with character orientation getting stuck after falling off the island in a vehicle.
  • EVENTS
  • Tournaments can be found inside of the new ‘Events’ tab available in the game. This tab will host a variety of online competitions which are open to everyone. Jump in and explore!
  • Each tournament has a series of scheduled dates and times that the competition will be run. A carousel of all upcoming competitions and times will be available for browsing, so you can plan and practice.
  • Every scheduled session is a completely clean slate with all players starting on an equal footing at the beginning of the play.
  • Compete over the course of several hours to earn points by eliminating multiple opponents or surviving against the competition.
  • Players are matched against opponents with similar scores during the session.
  • Score enough points during any scheduled event session and you’ll earn a golden pin for that tournament!
  • PERFORMANCE

  • If your match is set to “Private” or “Friends Only” then the group leader’s personal power rating is used instead.
  • This prevents low-level players from being brought up into public high-level missions where they cannot contribute fully to the group while maintaining the ability for friends to privately play together in high-level areas if they choose.

  • Rebalanced the reward points granted by Missions relative to the average length and difficulty of the mission type.
  • This results in the high-level end of mission “treasure chests” being harder to achieve in certain mission types, especially without bonus objectives.
  • To offset this we increased the number of rewards given per point, effectively increasing mission rewards for the majority of mission types.
  • Bug Fixes
  • Portraits of Someone Special quest now uses the correct zone difficulty.
  • Models that were intended to be invisible will no longer appear in-game.
  • Mega Alerts now have a chance to include the Nature Element modifier.
  • Fixed an issue where some mission types had their rewards incorrectly limited.
  • This issue resulted in many optional mission objectives increasing the “treasure chest” level displayed at the end of the mission, without increasing the actual rewards granted to the players.
  • PERFORMANCE
  • Selecting a Defender for a Defender Pad no longer causes a hitch on the first attempt.
  • Bug Fixes
  • Fixed crash caused by projectiles while loading into a zone.

  • Fixed an issue that caused players to get stuck when they hit a Smasher or Riot Husky with Bull Rush.
  • WEAPONS + ITEMS
  • Rat King Assault Rifle added to the Weekly Store.
  • Semi-automatic slug rifle that fires powerful rounds. Effective as a mid-range rifle with a slow fire rate.
  • Available Wednesday, October 17 at 8 PM ET until Wednesday, October 24 at 8 PM ET.
  • Grave Digger Assault Rifle has returned and been added to the Weekly Store.
  • A spooky assault rifle that fires medium ammo. Gains damage and impact at the cost of accuracy and fire rate.
  • Available Wednesday, October 17 at 8 PM ET until Wednesday, October 24 at 8 PM ET.
  • Added Dupe Prevention for Mythic Lead Survivors.
  • When a Llama rolls a Mythic Lead Survivor it will select one that is not already present in your inventory or your Collection Book.
  • If you have all of the Mythic Lead Survivors then it will select one at random.
  • Note that if a Llama offers a choice between two Mythic leads, it restricts the result to a specific type of lead, potentially resulting in a duplicate if you already have all Mythic leads of the selected types.
  • Player Jump Pads no longer consumes space in the Armory.
  • Bug Fixes
  • Fixed the following weapons to have the correct craft time:
  • Hacksaw
  • Lynx
  • Grave Digger
  • Ground Pounder
  • Whisper .45
  • Silenced Specter
  • Specter
  • Quad Launcher
  • Lead Sled no longer stops attacking when the attack button is held.
  • GAMEPLAY
  • We’ve introduced a new type of Mission Alert: Beta Storms!
  • Beta Storms are an avenue for testing all kinds of new content. This gives us a chance to see what you think of new content and experimental ideas.
  • Beta Storms are a limited-time Mission Alert. They’ll only stick around for a week or two, and then they’re gone.
  • This week, we’ve introduced a Retrieve the Data Beta Storm, along with a quest line with escalating rewards for trying out the Beta Storm.
  • In this new version of Retrieve the Data you are under pressure as the Storm closes in on the balloon’s landing spot. The Storm will cause damage to you and force the combat into a smaller area when defending the Data. The mission is 20 minutes long and the only way to get the maximum reward is to shoot down the balloon as soon as allowed.
  • This Beta Storm ends when the v6.20 update arrives, so try it out while it’s available.
  • Bug Fixes
  • Player character models no longer remain in-game after leaving a mission while in the downed state.
  • Players no longer lose the ability to use heavy melee and other abilities after respawning.

The Best Way To Complete Fortnite's Season 6 Time Trial Challenge

The Best Way To Complete Fortnite's Season 6 Time Trial Challenge

Fortnite: Battle Royale's sixth season Battle Pass has copied one of last season's least popular challenges: Time Trials.

This time around, the Time Trials are harder but you fortunately only have to complete three of them.

  • You can see where to find each of the five Time Trials in this location guide.

In any case, since you only have to complete three out of five this time around (two fewer than Season 5) that makes it a little easier and quicker to get the job done. But since these are all a little trickier than last year, it helps to have a guide on how to best complete the three easiest ones.

There's a lot of clickbait and garbage on YouTube these days, especially when it comes to Fortnite. A lot of "guides" on YouTube start out with five minutes of talking, with annoying YouTubers trying to get you to subscribe or beating around the bush endlessly just to make their videos 10 minutes long. Gross.

But there are some good ones, and I've gone to the trouble of finding what I believe is the best video guide out there for these Time Trials, from a YouTuber who has lots of other great guides you should check out for Fortnite, Destiny 2 and other popular games.

I'm talking about HarryNinteyFour. His Time Trials guide is just 1:44 seconds long and (like when I do YouTube guides) his short video includes no boring rambling or pleas to subscribe or giveaways. It's just a straightforward guide that shows you the best, simplest way to complete the three easiest Time Trails in Season 6.

Check it out:

The Snobby Shores location and the bridge south of Shifty Shafts are by far the easiest of the three. Neither of these two requires much building at all, though you could probably build a little more ahead of time than in this video if you're having trouble still. In particular, building some platforms across the bridge might be helpful so you don't have to risk falling off the beam.

The third location, in Tomato Temple, is by far the most challenging, but if you prep ahead of time you should be okay. That just requires a lot of building before you even start, and then knowing which order to grab these in. You could probably mix up the last three checkpoints and still finish the trial on time by going up the ramp and then jumping down.

In any case, see our guide for Season 6, Week 3 challenges here. And stay tuned for more challenge guides this Thursday when Week 4 kicks off.

'Tournaments' Are Coming To 'Fortnite' Tomorrow: Here's What You Need To Know

'Tournaments' Are Coming To 'Fortnite' Tomorrow: Here's What You Need To Know

Epic Games has announced that new in-game Tournaments will be coming to Fortnite: Battle Royale beginning tomorrow, October 16th.

There will be a new Events section in the game's menu which will allow you to access the Tournaments. Unlike major eSports events, these in-game Tournaments will be available to everyone.

That means all you have to do is join a Tournament to start competing in order to win a shiny pin. According to Epic, winning said shiny pin in the future will open up new Tournaments to compete in.

Here's how these Tournaments work:

  • Anyone can join. As you play, you'll be matched with players of a similar skill level depending on your performance. That means that if you do well, you'll move up to tougher competition and if you do poorly, it should get a little easier as you progress.
  • Epic is not separating players with different controller inputs. This means that you may find yourself competing against mouse-and-keyboard users as well as touchscreen gamers while you roll with a PS4 gamepad.
  • There will be different types of Tournaments based on the date and day of the week (see below.)

That's all pretty straightforward, though I'm honestly not sure about placing all these different types of controllers in the same tourney. Touchscreen vs mouse-and-keyboard is hardly fair. The controller is a bit more competitive, but only at very high skill levels.

In any case, here's the full schedule of the Tournaments for the rest of 2018:

  • Alpha Tournament (Solo)
    • Dates: October 16 - October 21
    • Description: Participate in the first in-game tournament, spanning across several days of daily competition!
  • Beta Tournament (Duo)
    • Dates: October 23 - October 25
    • Description: Grab a friend and take on the world - until you are the last two left.
  • Friday Night Fortnite (Squad)
    • Dates: October 19 - November 30
    • Description: Join your friends every Friday and kick off your weekend with some exciting Squad action.
  • Salty Springs Cup (Solo)
    • Dates: October 27 - October 31
    • Description: One week and three attempts to prove you're the saltiest that Salty Springs has to offer.
  • Tomato Temple Cup (Duo)
    • Dates: October 28 - November 1
    • Description: Become legends of the Tomato Temple Cup.

Epic Games also notes:

Over the next few months, we’ll be continuing to develop the tournaments feature to allow for events to occur across multiple rounds, requiring players to have earned a pin to qualify for each subsequent round.

We’re working toward establishing an exciting and varied schedule of tournaments for players of all talent levels, featuring new scoring formats and support for additional modes.

Beginning later this year, all eligible players will have the opportunity to qualify for the 2019 Fortnite World Cup directly through a ‘Showdown Royale’ event hosted using the in-game tournament system.

All told, this should be a fun way for more people to get involved with the competitive Fortnite play, similar to the various Showdown modes we've seen in the past. Even if you're not the best player out there---and most of us aren't!---this can be a good way to test your mettle and have some fun without too much pressure on the line.

The Third Fortnite BR Vehicle “Quadcrasher” Is On Its Way

The Third Fortnite BR Vehicle “Quadcrasher” Is On Its Way

Ever since Fortnite Battle Royale entered the mainstream, Epic Games has been constantly adding in new content into the game for its players to experience and enjoy. Whether it is a brand new weapon, a new consumable item or even a new game mode, the developers have been quite active with bringing in new content. Now, it looks as if a new mode of transport is coming to the game, one which not only takes you from point A to point B quickly but also mows down enemy structures.

Fortnite Quadlauncher

According to the Fortnite’s in-game “Message of the Day”  menu, a new vehicle called the Quadcrasher is coming to the game with the release of its next update. The message reads “Charge the boost to crash through structures or get some air!”. Furthermore, from looking at the image of the in-game Quadcrasher, it features a sort of a battering ram which players are going to be to use to break down enemy constructions.

Moreso, from looking at the size of the upcoming vehicle, it seems at max two players will be allowed to hop on but since the developers have yet to announce anything, nothing can be said for sure. But hopefully, as we all know just how active Epic Games is, details regarding this new vehicle is going to surface any day.

So, while you wait for the release of the upcoming Quadcrasher, let us know what you think of the new vehicle in the comments section. Do you think with the introduction of the Quadlauncer and now this, the developers are trying to put a stop to the building aspect of the game? Give us your opinion down below

Fortnite Season 6 Timed Trials Locations: Where to Find All Time Trials

Fortnite Season 6 Timed Trials Locations: Where to Find All Time Trials

All Fortnite Season 6 Timed Trial Locations

Chances are, if you’re here right now, you’re wondering where the Fortnite Season 6 Timed Trial locations are. While some are suggesting that these Timed Trial locations in Season 6 are the same as those in Season 5, they’re incorrect. We already checked, so you don’t have to.

We’ve also managed to get out there and find the Timed Trial locations for Fortnite Season 6’s week 3 challenges. We’ve also run you through exactly what you need to do when you find these starting points, so you can actually complete the time trials.

How to Start Timed Trials in Fortnite

When you’ve made it to one of the Timed Trials locations listed below in Fortnite Season 6, it’s simply a case of running over to through the blue/ clear clock icon. Once you do this, you’ll need to run through every other clock that you see appear in the surrounding area.

There’s normally a fairly obvious route to follow, and more often than not, you’ll shave seconds off your time by building ramps or other structures to make hitting them all within the time limit a lot easier.

As long as you run through all of the Timed Trials clocks by the time the timer runs out, you’ll have ticked off one of the three you need to do for the week 3 challenges.

Now, let’s get onto the Season 6 Timed Trial locations in Fortnite.

All Season 6 Timed Trial Locations in Fortnite

  • Tomato Temple (G4) – You’ll be able to find this on the steps up to the temple itself.
  • Bridge by Shifty Shafts (E8) – Head to the bridge to the south of Shifty Shafts. On the side of the bridge that has this named location on it, you’ll find another of the timed trial locations in Season 6.
  • The Secret Villain Base (B4) – At the very top of the mountain that contains the villain’s lair that was responsible for the rocket event, you’ll find another of the Season 6 Timed Trial locations.
  • South of Tilted Towers (D6) – You want to land to the south of Tilted Towers on the mountain. It’s just to the east of the abandoned shack with the chest in the roof.
  • Mountain West of Dusty Divot (F5) – It’s literally right next to Dusty Divot. You want to land right in the middle of the top of the mountain, just by the ridge on the west side.

We’ve included some images of the Fortnite Season 6 Timed Trial locations for you below.

We’re continuing to update this post as and when we find more of the Season 6 Timed Trial locations in Fortnite. Be sure to check back soon for the full list.

Looking for tips and tricks to help you with the rest of the week 3 challenges? We’ve got you covered.

‘Disco Domination’ LTM Hotfix Released By Epic Games In Fortnite – All Changes

‘Disco Domination’ LTM Hotfix Released By Epic Games In Fortnite – All Changes

A hotfix has been released by Epic Games for the ‘Disco Domination’ Limited Time Mode in Fortnite: Battle Royale.

Disco Domination was released in the V6.02 patch on Wednesday, October 10 as the newest ‘Limited Time Mode’ which consists of players attempting to take control of Dance Floors around the map.
