The developer of Rocket League Championship Series(RLCS) recently announced the release date of Season 8 is going to launch on October 5, at that time, the best teams from different corners of the world will get invited to join the competition, along with a huge prize pool. Although Psyonix has not leaked the specific amount of the pool by now, it will at least not be lower than $1,060,000 prize pool last year. RLCS added some changes and improvements during every season, so does Season 8, we have gotten part of details from Rocket League studio and share all with you.
The RLCS Season 8 is set to begin on October 5 in North America, and the event in Europe will launch on October 6, but the time may change with the specific situation, luckily, everything is going well until now.
Starting from Season 8, the Rival Series will be increased to 10 teams rather than eight by Psyonix, which allows more capable teams to be selected into the matches, and increases the challenge of Rival Series.
After RLCS, six teams will retain their spot in the season, and there is an extra day of playoff this year, which is prepared for the top four teams in RLCS to determine the two teams that will play in the promotion tournament against the bottom two teams of the RLCS. So during the period, we will take a look at more matched than before to reserve more opportunities for the teams to win.
