Here, we'all thrilled to be informed that Path of Exile and its latest 3.6.0 expansion will come out on PlayStation 4 in a couple of hours. As the official post mentioned before and the latest update provides, the PS4 version of Path of Exile will go live on March 26th and showcase for American regions first at 8 am while Europea will have its premiere at midnight later.
Allegedly, Path of Exile on PS4 will be only available for players in American and European regions. As for Asia, Russia, Australia, and some other regions, it won't show up and be purchasable until developers work that out someday.
About one day ago, Path of Exile official website released a post about answering all sorts of questions related to this PS4 roll-out. Based on what we gathered from this post, a number of avid players who happen to possess both PC and a PS4 console wouldn't be exhilarated by the information from this post that openly declared the cross-platform account connectivity, property migration wouldn't be an option and even cross-platform play was postponed to be realized.

Introduced in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and popularized by Final Fantasy XII’s Fran, the Viera are a race of tall, lanky bunny people. According to lore, male Viera exists but they live in separate settlements and do not appear in public. In a recent interview with GameSpot, Final Fantasy XIVproducer Naoki Yoshida cited this lore as the reason why playable Viera can only be female.
But the lore hasn’t stopped players from clamoring for and anticipating the reveal of playable rabbit boys. When asked about the possibility of male Viera during a Q&A session at the Paris Fanfest last month, Yoshida said he could not comment and that players would have to wait until this weekend’s Tokyo event for more information. Many took that comment as confirmation male Viera would appear. They did not.
Instead of playable male Viera, Yoshida introduced the male-exclusive race Hrothgar. Modeled after the bestial Ronso from Final Fantasy X, the Hrothgar are thickly-muscled cat men, some of whom sport horns à la FFX’s Kimahri. While Final Fantasy lore features both female and male Ronso, in Final Fantasy XIV they will be a male-only race, included as a counterpart to the female-only Viera.
This is, frankly, some bullshit. First off, adhering to the lore only matters for the Viera? Players cannot be male Viera because of lore, but they also cannot be female Hrothgar because, what, it wouldn’t be fair to everybody who wanted to be a male Viera? Nonsense.
Secondly, Final Fantasy XIV already has a humanoid feline race in the Miqo’te. Ironically, when Final Fantasy XIV first launched back in 2010, the Miqo’te were a female gender-locked race, a counterpart to the male-only Roegadyn. After the game was shut down and rebooted as A Realm Reborn in 2013, male Miqo-te and female Roegadyn got added, thanks largely to fan outcry.
Now fans are outcrying again. Reddit threads about the new race reveal(thanks to reader Connor for bringing these to my attention) are filled with angry comments. There’s an extensive fan-created poll gathering data about how players feel about the gender-locking, and how it affects their feelings about July’s Shadowbringers expansion.
Fortunately, director Naoki Yoshida told GameSpot the team is taking player feedback under consideration. The developers have a good track record when it comes to dealing with players’ complaints, like their approach to fixing issues with player housing, or their response the first time Final Fantasy XIV had a pair of gender-locked races. Let’s hope players don’t have to complain too loud and long, and I can get my bunny boy on sooner rather than later.

Whether you want to sell it or use it, good equipment is hard to get without crafting. In Path of Exile, there are several ways you can alter and customize your equipment. They need different amounts of orbs and PoE currency, but this guide can help you keep the spending low.
Without further ado, here are the most effective methods of crafting in PoE.
You can upgrade your normal (white) items to magic or rare-level rarity. It’s a simple process and would only require an Orb of Transmutation, Orb of Chance, or Orb of Alchemy. Rarer items have modifiers that change the properties of the item. Magic ones can only handle one on each end, while rare ones can have six at most. Using an Orb of Alchemy automatically adds two modifiers.
You can add modifiers one by one or all at once. There are two ways: using a Chaos Orb, and the systematic Alt/Regal/Exalt method. Using a Chaos Orb randomizes the modifiers as well as the number of modifiers. It’s a method for making a generally good piece of equipment. Also, it’s better when you’re not looking for anything specific, or are looking for synergistic modifiers.
The Alt/Regal/Exalt method is a more complicated affair. However, it’s the way to get specific mods. You’re going to need several Orbs of Transmutation, Orbs of Alteration, Regal Orbs, and Exalted Orbs. It’s not required but Eternal Orbs, Orbs of Scouring, Divine Orbs and Blessed Orbs are also good items to stock for the process.
The first step is to get the normal item you want to craft. Then you use an Orb of Transmutation to turn it into a magic item. Next, use Orbs of Alteration until you get the modifiers you want. After that, you use a Regal Orb.
If you don’t like the mods on the resulting item, you can use an Orb of Scouring and start over again. Otherwise, you can use an Eternal Orb so you can ‘reset’ the item later at this point. It’s a good idea to do so, as it prevents you from having to start the process all over again. Continuing the process means using three Exalted Orbs next. Reset with the Eternal Orb if you rolled an unwanted mod and you made an imprint at the point specified. When you’ve gotten the mods you want, you can boost them with Divine and Blessed Orbs.
Using the crafting bench in your hideout, you can actually craft modifications for your stuff. You can find recipes in specific areas and maps, as well as master content. Generally, you can only apply one crafted mod on an item, but there are ways to subvert that limitation. Other than making a mod for your use, it can actually limit the randomized nature of Exalted Orbs. A crafted mod applied to an item prevents Exalted Orbs from rolling a modification of the same type. It’s a way to raise the likelihood of getting the desired mod.
The more advanced crafting method revolves around meta-crafting mods and Orbs of Scouring. While the latter’s description implies that all properties are removed, meta-crafted ones can actually protect certain mods from its effects. Also, you can make ‘Can have multiple crafted mods’ to subvert the one crafted mod limitation.
There are more specific methods of using meta-mods, but it’s better to find those out by yourself. Then there are socket crafting and using Vaal Orbs. The latter is quite risky, with the side effect of losing important properties or sockets. Also, it prevents further modification of the item.
At any rate, whether it’s for your own use or for PoE trading, these are the basic methods of crafting in PoE. They are the building blocks for more complicated and complex crafting, so whether you’re new to the game or a time-tested veteran, this is something good to know. Master the basics, and future crafting endeavors will become easy as apple pie.

1. Choose a Cheap Build
• All builds weren’t made equal. Some provide a lot of power for little investment but don’t scale as well into the endgame, while others require lots of specific and expensive items but can tackle any challenge thrown at them. Spell-based builds tend to be less gear-reliant than attack-based builds as a large portion of the damage they deal come from the base properties of the gems they use. Choosing a safe spell-based build (such as a totem-focused Hierophant) is a great way to get an early foothold in a league.
2. Go Against the Flow
• If you plan on trading for items, choosing an off-meta build is the way to go. Playing in a particularly Witch-heavy league? That just makes gearing up your Duelist much cheaper. By choosing a build few others are playing you are guaranteed to have access to all the key items at a significant discount and can sell items you’re not using at a premium.
4. Stash Good Leveling Items
• Many players play multiple characters per league. It’s a no-brainer to keep a Goldrim around for leveling alternate characters, but it’s less obvious to keep an eye out for good low-level rares as you blow through early acts. A low-level rare weapon with high damage can make leveling your Juggernaut so easy it almost feels like cheating.
5. Use Your Crafting Bench
• You know you’re going to end up with hundreds of Orbs of Augmentation later, so why not spend some now? Any spare mod slot on an item is an opportunity to speed up your leveling. Extra life, mana, attributes or resistances can solve almost any problem you’re likely to run up against. Whenever you find a new item you want to use, it’s worth seeing what you can craft onto it.
6. Check the Vendors
• Vendors often sell items that can be resold for a Chromatic Orb and, less commonly, sell items with six sockets that can be sold for seven Jeweller’s Orbs. Check vendors whenever you happen to be in town and by the time you hit maps you may have a lot more socket-modifying POE Currency to experiment with.
7. Stash Quality Gems
• Getting the quality of your skill and support gems up can be time-consuming, so stashing gems with quality that you may use on another character is a great way to shortcut this process. It can also be a great starting place for figuring out your next build.
8. A Unique Collection
• Sometimes a build falls into your lap, but if you vendor every unique you don’t want to use, you may not even realize it. By stashing build-defining Unique items, when the time comes to start your second character, your build maybe 90-percent of the way there.
9. It’s Dangerous To Go Alone!
• Well…not THAT dangerous, but playing with friends means you’ll have an outlet for items you don’t want, and so will they. Playing with a mix of classes ensures that all the best item drops go unwasted, and the right gear filters to the right people.
10. Know When You’ve Hit a Wall
• This is the trickiest one – characters starting from scratch may not always make it to the absolute endgame, and that’s OK. It can be frustrating to hit your head against that wall over and over again, watching your experience bar grind to a standstill, but that’s why you’ve stashed all those strong weapons, quality gems and build-defining unique items. Make a new character and see how much farther you can go this time.
Square Enix is preparing to unload the next batch of information about Final Fantasy XIV’s expansion Shadowbringers at Tokyo Fanfest this weekend, and an interesting detail has just surfaced.
Today singer Susan Calloway shared on her personal Facebook account that she will perform at the event with a heartfelt message.
“I’ve been packing and rehearsing non stop the past few days… another plane ride tomorrow – to Tokyo this time to perform for ffxivfanfest2019 I can’t wait !! I’ve been quiet on social media lately.I think sometimes it’s good to be quiet. This world is noisy, isn’t it? So much for our ears, eyes, hearts, and souls to sift thru and decide what is valuable… and what seriously isn’t.
I hope as an artist I always bring you guys music and inspiration that helps you. I want to do something different this year- something that will matter even more. And I want you all to be a part of it.
Our world is in quite a mess right now, and alone we can feel pretty powerless to really do anything to help. But together? We just might have a chance to change some things. “Look to those who walk before, to lead those who walk after”… that’s you and me. Thank you for the love, support and purpose you guys give me. Considering that Calloway lent her angelic voice to the original Final Fantasy XIV theme song “Answers” and to those for both the Heavensward and Stormblood expansions “Dragonsong” and “Revolutions,” it stands to reason to expect that she will perform the song for the upcoming expansion Shadownbringers as well.
It’s also quite likely that the theme song might be formally revealed at Tokyo Fanfest during the keynote, which will happen on March 22 at 6:30 PM PDT.
The official schedule of the event does include a piano concert, so it’s also possible that Calloway might be flying to Tokyo in order to perform during that, but I would be surprised if we didn’t get to hear the new song, and if didn’t feature Susan Calloway’s voice.
Of course, we’ll have to wait and see. The main questline of A Requiem for Heroes is set to receive its second part, with the player’s Warrior of Light rushing to joining the fray. A mysterious voice is said to beckon the player toward their ultimate doom. It will then be their job to make sure they are not left as the final victim to the requiem’s otherworldly pull while they fight for the future of Eorzea.
There are more updates to other quest lines too, such as the Even Further Hildebrand Adventures that were introduced in Stormblood. Players will get to help the suave detective in his investigation of Master Akebono, in a foreboding plot that’s set to be as intriguing and absurd as all the Hildebrand quests before it.
The Beast Tribe Quests are also receiving an update, with Square Enix’s patch notes promising a tale of three tribes coming together in a dramatic union, but first “falling apart”. Whether this means the PC has to pick a faction I’m unsure, though a nice faction war is always welcome to divide an MMOs player base.
Nothing else has yet been announced regarding additional in-game items or tweaks, though if previous patches are anything to go by, there’ll be plenty of new things to keep players busy for a while.

MapleStory Fest, which was inaugurated in the April of the last year, seemingly comes back to Maplers again in the next month, according to the official statement from Nexon.
Allegedly, MapleStory Fest is able to pull off due to massive quantities of followings and diehards, mostly driven by nostalgia and fixating on their childhoods. It is why MapleStory is still updating and evolving since its debut in 2005 and MapleStory 2, the orthodox sequel of MapleStory, could get so much attention and engagement in the first month of its release.
However, nothing will last forever, even includes video games. After over 5 months of exploration and progressing, MapleStory 2 turned itself into a cover-girl-esque has-been. According to Steam records, 95% of the concurrent players of this game have vanished and evaporated during the five months, and most importantly, it didn't get any better recently. It was gladly seeing the decline of active players' number take a pause for some causes, however, the rise seemed nowhere to seek for and anything in the game doesn't turn around or better off than before.
A new project called New Leaf has been rolled out to address all the issues within the deep side of the game. Recently, it focuses on patching up the MapleStory 2 Mesos sink reduction and Epic Pets. Note that this project is nothing but a proactive diagnosis before a real "surgery", means that nothing will be changed and no effects can be found until all the promising measures are really deployed to the game.
MapleStory Fest will be a pure cash cow that only serves to rake in big profits through selling off the nostalgic stereotypes, or is going to a convention for introspection and prospects, along with a few more handshakes and heckles? It's a piece of breaking news for players still exploring the new Synthesis league journey or annihilating monsters in order to collect more POE Orbs and items. Symbolically, the game will have reached beyond "an ARPG" after wrapping up its first convention.
ExileCon will follow the regular standards set by previous game-themed conventions with the promise of a celebration "of all things Path of Exile", some of which will be "earth-shaking" announcements and previews. It is probably more free Path of Exile content from the tireless developers but truly "earth-shaking" would be an announcement of a sequel.
Previews and demos for said announcements will also be present apparently along with competitions and talks with Grinding Gear Games developers. The finishing event will be something called ExileCon Party but no info was given on what it might entail.
As we previously noted, the convention will be running for two days and the venue will be the Aotea Centre in Auckland, New Zealand. There will be three tiers of tickets - Regular, VIP and "Ultra VIP", the last of which will include a barbecue with Chris Wilson, Jonathan Rodgers, and Erik Olofsson.
While the VIP and Ultra VIP tickets stood at staggering $500 and $1000, they were already sold out at the time of writing, testifying to the massive popularity Path of Exile developers are enjoying in New Zealand. There were still some 200 or so tickets left for regular access.
Pricey tickets selling like hotcakes and Path of Exile's massive popularity growth may in part be happening because Grinding Gear Games have not asked their fans if they have phones yet. Speaking of the growth, the announcement also entailed some growth info, stating that launches on Xbox One and in China have more than doubled Path of Exile community, with 188,970 concurrent players being the current record.
Grinding Gear Games didn't talk about whether further ExileCons would be organized but considering that tickets are mostly gone mere hours after the announcement, it is quite possible we will see another one in 2020 at least.
Fortnite is getting a new update today that’s making some significant changes to the gameplay for console owners. Epic today rolled out version 8.10 of the game, introducing some major changes to the matchmaking system.
With today’s update, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players are within the same matchmaking pools, meaning they will be playing together and against each other. The expansion of its cross-play feature essentially means you will have no other option than to compete against players on a different console. The feature allows you to opt-in, but if you were to opt-out, you would be restricted to Playground and the Creative Mode.
Epic is also making some changes for Nintendo Switch players. If you play on the Switch, you will now play with and compete against Mobile users on Android and iOS. In the past, the Switch was on the same matchmaking pool as the PS4 and Xbox One, but Epic is making it so Switch players now play with mobile users. “We expect an on-average better pre-game experience for both Mobile and Switch players,” the company said.
The changes to cross-play on Fortnite are quite interesting mainly because of the culture of the gaming community.
