A New Title Called

Path of Exile is holding an April Fool's event today while some players subjectively presumed it was going to be a Game-coming-to-mobile-devices prankish news broadcast before. However, it turns out to be a different-genres-blended-together joking fest.

It all started with the imaginary game expansion called "Path of Warframe: The Quest for the average neck" - which according to the news anchor "Rebekah" Bex, is one of all expansions from a first-person top-down Action RPG hack-n-shooter genre. Not only sounds the goofy name hilarious and quite intriguing, but it also rolls in the aisles when Bex explains in a funny way.

What is this so-called "merged-from-two-games-from-different-genres crossover" for? what is the content this expansion showing up for? Bex explained that the game has a complex gameplay mechanic that does nothing but reward the players with loots, items, treasure, currency(like POE Orbs), and microtransactions. And the expansion is to seek an average neck - not too high, not too short by playing either Path of Exile's Templar or Warframe's Atlas.

Although it sounds perfectly natural and a bit of dull to you when I paraphrase the statement that way, I assure the original content of news was quite a hoot and you probably couldn't resist and be reluctant to hear any words from a brain-damaged retard or a fully drunk hummingbird.

The microtransactions in Path of Warframe is another eye-catching spoofing show. The exclusive microtransactions include Itchy Necklace, the Allergy Inducing Scarf, Oozing Rash, Goiter, Hickie, Shoulder Hair Vegan Neck Tattoo and a Plunging V-neck. And the Neckbeard Cosmetic as the endgame rewards for ultimate players. You can see the relevance among these items without any finger-pointing.

So another feature in this crossover game is that somehow they managed to feed both community directors from two games, Rebb and Bex, into an AI. And forge a new one named REBBBEX. What this new REBBBEX does as a community moderator for an imaginary game is to post gifs on your live streams, introduce new content, destroy Twitter and kill all humans.

Here is a scratch biography record for this new game "Path of Warframe" and its expansion "The quest for the average neck".

Final Fantasy XIV Turns Omega Into Hilarious Smart Home Assistant For April Fool’s Day

Final Fantasy XIV Turns Omega Into Hilarious Smart Home Assistant For April Fool’s Day

If you’re tired of fighting Omega in Final Fantasy XIV, now it can be your ally… sort of.

Square Enix has a long-running tradition of April Fool pranks tied to its popular MMORPG, and today they delivered again.

This time around they turned Omega into a smart home assistant with a knack for… British humor… sort of. They even released a trailer to show it off, and it’s pretty hilarious.

You can watch it below.

If you want to know more about Final Fantasy XIV and its upcoming expansion Shadowbringers, you can check out the latest reveals from Tokyo FanFest including the Dancer job and the Hrothgar race,  an official batch of screenshots, and a look on how the new city of Crystarium has been created.

If you’d like to get ready before the expansion’s release, Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood is currently available for PS4 and PC, and a few more updates are coming. Recently, we received a full schedule of the upcoming patches and a look at the upcoming crossover with XV.

Shadowbringers will officially release on July 2 for PS4 and PC.

We also learned that the game is getting a movie in June, which is a remake of the TV Series “Dad of Light” from 2017. And yes, this isn’t an April Fool prank.

Even Final Fantasy XIV Director Naoki Yoshida Is On The Battle Royale Train

Even Final Fantasy XIV Director Naoki Yoshida Is On The Battle Royale Train

We get it. Battle Royale games are big right now, and the evergrowing behemoth that is Fortnite seems like it won’t ever stop, but having Final Fantasy XIV Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida talk about making a battle royale game is going a bit too far.

In an interview with GameSpot, Yoshida enthused that one of his dream projects would be a battle royale title:

Yoshida also said he’d like to make another MMO someday that may not be set in the Final Fantasy universe. He’d like to make that game before he dies. And while on the subject of dream projects, Yoshida said he hopes to be able to work on Diablo 4 someday.

“I would like to make a battle royale game. I have some ideas to do that,” Yoshida told GameSpot through a translator. “I have some ideas to make that type of game fun. As an online game designer, I would like to make an MMORPG from scratch without any limitations or restrictions. Removing all those kind of restrictions, I would like to make one MMORPG that fits the current trend before I die. I would also like [to work on] Diablo 4.”

Now, this could mean a lot of things. First off, it probably means nothing as Yoshida is firmly hitched to the FFXIV wagon for the foreseeable future, but it could also mean better PvP content for FFXIV. After all, battle royale games are nothing more than a specific type of PvP. And player-vs-player content is one of the areas in which FFXIV is pretty sorely lacking.

Sure, it has PvP, but it’s hard to join and hard to figure out. PvP in FFXIV is ultimately unsatisfying for most players and there are many who avoid it altogether.

So while the thought of a Final Fantasy battle royale or a non-FF battle royale developed by Yoshida are great concepts, we’d prefer to be realistic and just get a better version of what we have already.

Free Armour Trimming: The Communist Revolution Inside Runescape

Free Armour Trimming: The Communist Revolution Inside Runescape

RuneScape was once declared the world’s largest multiplayer online game. Millions of people were entranced by its blocky graphics and repetitive gameplay. Like many young people in the early noughties, I was naively drawn in by RuneScape’s promise that hard work, industrious labour, and a lava battle staff would allow me to earn enjoyment and success.

Capitalism, too, has promised the workers of the world that faithfulness to our employers is the path to contentment. Yet the relation of exploitation between the capitalist and working classes has led the proletariat into open revolt against our rulers over and over again. RuneScape, like capitalism, has repeatedly entered into periods of crisis in which the people have demanded change. And as I learned today while procrastinating, in RuneScape just as in capitalism, the people have turned to communism to build a new world.

An ancient fan wiki revealed to me the lost history of class struggle in RuneScape, and now I bring it to the world in the hopes of developing our class consciousness as workers.

In 2007, a communist RuneScape clan was formed to bring proletarian rule to Server 32 of the world of Gielinor. In a context of scattered clan infighting, the RuneScape communist party was a rampantly victorious social force. Under the wise leadership of SireZaros, the communists waged a revolutionary struggle against reactionary and bourgeois clans that saw more than 5,000 player characters killed in the fighting.

Where the other clans, though, were motivated by base self-interest, the communists were driven by something more, something higher. With the weight of history on their side, animated by the might of the worker-peasant masses, armed with both the revolutionary science of Marxism and dragon battleaxes, the RuneScape communists were militarily undefeatable. Within three months, the communists controlled 95% of Server 32. It was thus that the working class of Gielinor became, for a brief and beautiful moment, masters of our own destiny.

The RuneScape communists quickly set about building socialism. They established a series of Soviets, elected local councils tasked with determining the needs of the working class. These councils appointed members to a people’s parliament who deliberated the issues of the day and approved or denied the decisions of a cabinet of more than 20 ministers. This socialist government was responsible for planning and administering every aspect of the world’s economy. Redistributing wealth, shepherding the collective wellbeing of all, RuneScape socialism flourished. SireZaros, once the leader of a revolutionary army, was now president of a peacetime government. The world, for a time, was peaceful.

This was not to last. In early 2008, the party fell into a period of brutal civil war. Led by Redsteel136, a more junior party member, a small group of coup-makers scrabbled for control of the government. After vicious brother versus brother, sister versus sister, player versus player combat, Redsteel136’s plot was successful.

The new leadership of the party found the deposed cabinet guilty of crimes against humanity–an accusation which history, unfortunately, does not illuminate either way. SireZaros, the hero of the revolution, along with the entire overthrown party cadre, was executed. With Redsteel136 as the new General Secretary of the party, the communists pursued a strategy of market reforms to build a powerful economy. Funding the state from the proceeds of the sale of high-level items, Server 32 was a commanding force.

The changes initiated by General Secretary Redsteel136 were not only economic. Karamja is an in-game island populated by NPC pirates and (in hindsight, more than little racist caricatures of) indigenous people. The presence of pirates hints, I think, at an in-universe history of colonialism perpetrated against Karamja by the now communist-controlled Kingdoms of Asgarnia and Kandarin. In a display of admirable anti-imperialist solidarity between socialists in the imperial core and colonised peoples, General Secretary Redsteel136 acknowledged the virtual island’s right to national liberation. Administration of the island was handed over to a Karamjan clan who have, unfortunately, gone unrecorded in history.

Life in Server 32, it appears, settled down for a time after the chaos of the civil war. However, measures implemented in late 2007 by the developers of RuneScape to control real-world money trading had set a catastrophic chain reaction in motion. Some light is shed on the disaster by Tanla E. Bilir’s 2009 thesis on RuneScape’s relation to the non-virtual economy. Jagex, the company that produces RuneScape, needed to counteract the issue of virtual marketplaces such as eBay allowing the sale of in-game items for cash. In order to prevent players in-game from handing over valuable items for nothing, a clear indicator that payment had been received in US Dollars rather than Gielinorian Gold Pieces, Jagex set the prices of all in-game items at fiat values. All items were then required to trade for a number of RuneScape Gold pieces within a fixed range above or below that fiat value. That value could vary up or down as items were traded, but it could only increase or decrease by a limited amount over a given period.

The effects of this dastardly economic imperialism by the capitalist running dogs at Jagex were devastating to Server 32’s workers’ state. The unbelievably rare, highly sought-after items such as colourful paper Party Hats or the (inexplicably priceless) Half Full Jugs of Wine had had their fiat values set orders of magnitude lower than their market value. Items which had once sold for billions of gold pieces were now impossible to trade–and because General Secretary Redsteel136’s market reforms had founded the communist economy on these items, the economy imploded.

In October, the economy bottomed out at its historical low. Nevertheless, the communist party continued to hold out, hoping that the tradeable price of high-level items would eventually grow high enough to allow for an eventual economic recovery. Sadly, this was not to be. In the grip of total market collapse, the communists were incapable of extracting enough tax revenue from players to meet the clan fees necessary for them to maintain power. As the sun set on the final few days of December 2008, after almost a year of working-class rule, General Secretary Redsteel136 dissolved the party and returned power to the bourgeoisie.

RuneScape’s first experiment in socialism ended, regretfully, in the restoration of capitalist domination. This should not, however, be taken as a sign that capitalism is inevitable or uncontestable. The revolutionary fervour with which the proletariat of Server 32 ganked and teabagged their way to power demonstrates clearly that the objective conditions for communism in RuneScape can and do exist. Likewise, while General Secretary Redsteel136′s ascent to power came through backroom politicking and anti-democratic plots, his policies towards Karamjan national liberation were progressive and internationalist. The crisis which snuffed out the flame of socialism was the result of a concerted attack by a powerful capitalist foe.

RuneScape’s communist revolution was defeated a decade ago. As Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels taught in The Manifesto of Communist Party, “What the bourgeoisie, therefore, produces, above all, are its own grave-diggers. Its fall and the victory of the proletariat are equally inevitable.”

The struggles we face, in the workplace and in the family computer room, result from the internal contradictions of the capitalist world system. The rich need us, in order to exploit us for our labour. With nobody to extract profit from, capitalism could not exist. But we do not need the rich. There is no reason we cannot break the mithril chains of exploitation, come together as workers, and share in common the sweet loot of our labour.

Maplestory 2 Shadow Expedition Mesos Guide for Assassins

Maplestory 2 Shadow Expedition Mesos Guide for Assassins

It’s a common trend for localized versions of MMORPGs from Korea to be many updates behind the original game in their home country. Maplestory 2 is no exception. It’s quite a shame, as the global version would be so much better if it already had the latest updates, including those that drop a lot of Maplestory 2 Mesos. One of those is Shadow Expedition.

Into the Shadows

If you’re reading this, we’re assuming that you’re already aware that Shadow Expedition is not yet available on Maplestory 2’s global servers. You’ll be able to use this information either later on in the future when playing on the global server or if you choose to play on the Korean servers.

Shadow Expedition is a kind of PVE raid content where players can spam skills. You can do that quite literally, as your skills have no cooldown while you’re in this dungeon. But before you even consider simply breeze through this kind of content, think again. Aside from the fact that this is a solo dungeon and therefore nobody’s coming to help you, it has a rather slim window courtesy of a three-minute timer. You must finish the entire raid before that timer runs out!

Don’t be intimidated, though, since there’s obviously a catch. After all, the Maplestory 2 devs, contrary to popular belief, aren’t sadists. To make sure that you can manage to finish it, killing enemies will aptly earn you a few extra seconds on the clock. The amount of time you receive depends on the kind of enemy you take down. But of course, if it takes you too long to kill the monsters, it will result in a huge net loss of time. That just means you can’t rely on this mechanic. Rather, it’s just there to ensure you don’t time out when you have enough DPS to finish the dungeon.

Gearing Up for the Expedition

As a dungeon designed to be run solo, all classes can definitely finish Shadow Expedition. Of course, it goes without saying that Assassin, one of the best DPS classes in the game, is among them. But not all assassins can finish this, considering the dungeon’s pretty stringent DPS requirements. To match that, here’s a build guide for this particular job class.

The first thing you need to get right is your attributes. For Assassin, Luck takes priority, as this is what increases Critical Hit rate, which is vital for this critical hit-dependent class. If you want, you can even allocate all the points you earn to this particular attribute.

When it comes to gear bonuses, the stats you should be prioritizing are the following in order: Boss DamageCritical Damage or Critical RatePhysical Piercing, and Physical Attack. Gear that boasts one of these stats can be worth a fortune, but it’s definitely going to be Maplestory 2 Mesos well spent.

Built for the Darkness

Finally, for skill builds, there are three popular types for you to choose from. For this part of the guide, keep in mind that the skill build names show what that particular build’s core skills are.

The first and most well-known is the Lucky StarsStar Chaser, and Star Flurry build. The advantage of this build is that it has great DPS, making it a reliable one that works even when your gear setup is a bit underpowered.

A less popular build is the Shadow Cutter build. Unlike the one before it, it deals more single-target damage, but the downside to this is that it has a much higher skill cap, and is inconvenient to use. This is compounded by the fact that it’s less user-friendly due to the lack of macro. Other than Shadow Cutter, Shadow Burst and Soul Grind will be your bread-and-butter skills. As previously stated, this has a high skill cap, so be ready! Lastly, this build works best when your main hand weapon is stronger than your offhand.

There’s the last build, called the Assassin Mirror Image build, which, as the name suggests, relies on all sorts of skills that create mirror images. However, this one is not advisable for Shadow Expedition. Nevertheless, you’re free to try and prove us wrong.

The Shadow Expedition will be quite a fun experience, especially when you run it as an assassin– if you manage to finish it, that is. Well, with these tips, you hopefully can!

MapleStory 2 Accessory Socket Improvement Plan Is Now Underway

MapleStory 2 Accessory Socket Improvement Plan Is Now Underway

As most of the Maplers might have known about, MapleStory 2 was officially rolling out Mar. 28th update and already deployed into the game. The so-called Mar. 28th update features 3 diverse main aspects, including the establishment of the MapleStory 2 Mesos Market, an escalation of Epic Pet drop rate and fixes of Meso Sink Reduction issue. Although it was made clear in the last announcement that this update would be merely a prelude to the massive subsequent fix-ups, still, many praised for the improvements the update have brought along after an immersive experience of the new game.

In the meantime, MapleStory 2 is still sticking to the Project New Leaf, which has been inaugurated for an overhaul to the game inside out, and ready to surmount another obstacle ahead of it - Accessory Socket.

Earlier today, In the official announcement, MapleStory 2 pledged to release another update concerned with Progression Improvement in the next month, as well as expanded on the specifics of the next update content. The announcement also stated that as one of the main subjects in this Project New Leaf, Progression Improvement would become the last one left to be dealt with.

As the top priority of this Progression Improvement, Accessory Socket is undoubtingly the star of this post. Much of the remainder of this post focused on how to fix this issue and what measures would they take. However, for starters, they actually pointed out that the random elements for opening accessory sockets combined with the accessory fusion Meso cost are extremely excruciating for many players. How to fix it? And what will it take to make the progress less painful and more intriguing as it should be? MapleStory 2 producer seems to have some kind of plan coming to his mind already.

Here are the current requirements for opening any Lv. 50 Epic Accessories in the game:

And Here is the producer's proposal of an improvement to the requirements:

You don't need to be hyped up for these changes too early. Based on the announcement, the actual accessories categories applied to those improvements go way beyond the limitation. So your Legendary Accessories are also incorporated in the list.

As you can see from the charts, what MapleStory 2 tried to work out is making each attempt to opening one accessory socket "guaranteed with double the amount of accessories needed while keeping the Crystal Fragment cost the same." In the meantime, uplifting the success rate into 100% so that the general cost of successfully opening a socket can be tremendously degraded compared to the current mechanic it adopts. This kind of improvement, of course, will be favored by Maplers and contributed to the reflux of runaway players to some extent.

The Elder Scrolls: Blades Is Now Live For Some People

The Elder Scrolls: Blades Is Now Live For Some People

Bethesda has announced that The Elder Scrolls: Blades is now available for players who registered for early access prior to March 25. Players are being given access in waves, though, so you might have to wait a little bit longer to play the whole game, even if you pre-ordered the game and signed up early. Also, you have to pre-register on Bethesda's website, which is a separate process from pre-ordering the game.

"The first wave of The Elder Scrolls: Blades early access went smoothly, so we invited the next wave," Bethesda wrote in a tweet. "If you registered after [March 25] don't worry, we're sending invites daily." In a follow-up tweet, Bethesda revealed there is a "delay in account authentication," but the company is working to fix the problem "as soon as possible."

Blades is a mobile installment in The Elder Scrolls series, which Bethesda describes as a "pure Elder Scrolls game" with "console-quality graphics." The major difference between Blades and previous The Elder Scrolls games is that Blades doesn't have an open world. Instead, it's a series of interconnected environments--some of which are still "very large," according to Bethesda.

"We could do it," Bethesda director and executive producer Todd Howard said when asked about possibly implementing an open-world into Blades. "We'll see how people interact with it. Because it's mobile, we know people may play... We need you to get something meaningful done in 10 or 15 minutes. Do you know what I mean? Even though you could sit down and play it for as many hours as you want."

The Elder Scrolls: Blades was originally scheduled to release on Android and iOS devices in Fall 2018, but it was delayed. The game is free to download. Bethesda has said there are plans to bring the game to PC and consoles in the future, but there is no planned release window for those versions.

Highlights: The Summary of The 2.51 Beta of Dofus

Highlights: The Summary of The 2.51 Beta of Dofus

The 2.51 update of Dofus comes into play now. You can fight new monsters, explore a chocolate island and set off on bugs from now on!

Kindly reminder that this patch of Dofus arrives in as a beta. And for those who are fond of sweets and chocolates, this beta patch definitely is a treat for them. You will be carried away by the smell of hot chocolate and discover the 2.51 through this summary of its features.

Time anomalies

A narrative arc called "Eliocalypse" which is categorized as a PvM mechanic offers you to fight iconic Krosmoz characters through space-time faults caused by the Zaaps.

Shooting Stars

The system of Stars for the groups is completely revised in order to eliminate power-leveling and its abuses. Stars are now defined for a zone instead of a group only. The activity of the players in these areas become vital for the sustenance of these stars. Other than that, the stars can now be negative, bringing an XP Drop penalty under some circumstances. These, of course, hit a raw nerve for intensive farm teams on Xelorium or via the Korriander. Here are some specifics of correlative changes in the update:

  • Gains and losses range from +100 to -50% (200% to 0% before)
  • Zones for beginners (Incarnam, Astrub) and event zones (Nowel, Vulkania, Halouine, Pwak) are spared
  • Values are displayed on the card in play.
  • The system should not affect drops on condition (Rare Drops, Quests), but it is currently not possible to demonstrate it in Beta
  • The Star Negative provoke Temporal Anomalies

Pwak Island

The April event gets a makeover! A brand new extension is appearing with enough content for all levels! On the program, you will find:

  • 3 Zones 50, 130 and 190
  • 3 Dungeons
  • 16 Quests in 2 Success
  • 1 Dofus
  • Rare Drops
  • An Ornament
  • A host of titles

Amenities

From new cosmetics or not objects are available. A majority is related to Pwak, so expect a rather sweet appearance!

Infinite Dreams

  • The monsters of Pwak will invade the Dreams for the duration of the event!
  • Of exclusive rewards in dreams appear in addition to the Legendary Items. But what are they? The next section of this article should answer your question ...

Familiar

They continue their remaking in peace, or almost. In addition to the implementation of a few missing pets (some do not answer the call, like the Drakopin, but they will arrive later!), Your critters will now be able to obtain " Legendary Powers "! These bring a bonus of the form "Your invocations robs you 1 MP during their invocation" or "Finishing his turn next to an ally removes you 1 PA to give it to this ally", as well as a penalty.
There will be 5 powerful bonuses and 15 minors. For the moment in Beta, they are unknown because the Temporal Anomalies are not yet available and the recipes of the potions to obtain these bonuses depend on the resources obtained in the new feature. These recipes will also contain in their hearts a " Legend ", obtainable in the Infinite Dreams. These items will be exclusive to the Dreams and should, therefore, restart the Farm of the Infinite Dungeons!

Quests

In addition to the rain of new quests proposed by Pwâk, a narrative linked to the Anomalies is unveiled! Meet in front of the Clock Amaknan, next to the Xelor Temple, to discover, and at level 50! These quests are classified in the category "Main Quests" and seem to announce very heavy ...

Finally, to complete this summary of the update, it will no longer be possible to recover the rewards of the event " The Call of Draconiros " in 2.51. Hurry up and spend the last chips or Dofus kamas trailing in the bottom of your bags!

2.51 is available now in Beta. Feel free to participate in the tests to report the various bugs, while discovering the future features!

A Statement From Final Fantasy XIV Online Director Implies A Possible Extension Of The Game Platform Ports

A Statement From Final Fantasy XIV Online Director Implies A Possible Extension Of The Game Platform Ports

There is a possibility that Final Fantasy XIV Online may extend its compatible platform into Nintendo and Xbox someday in the near feature. In an interview with FFXIV game director Naoki Yoshida by Gamespot, it was made clear that discussion with Microsoft, Nintendo, and Google are currently in progress.

In a previous interview, the game director also stressed that cross-platform play is needed for the unity of Final Fantasy player bases and the offer of the best experience. The game only with PS4 and PC needs to be past history. With Sony and Nintendo starting to allow cross-play with competing platforms for games like Fortnite and Rocket League, there is a higher possibility for Final Fantasy XIV to extend to these platforms.

Yoshida even stated in his interview, "So as long as the regulations with the counterpart hardware companies ... we can actually pass that, then the possibility, the chance is quite high" [of Final Fantasy XIV coming to Xbox and Nintendo systems].

However, this is mostly speculation. According to Yoshida, negotiations with the other platforms are still going on. He reassured though that once there are details, there will be an announcement.

Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers will release on July 2nd, 2019 while you still need to be prepared for a series of rigorous combats in A Realm Reborn by now, so you probably are dying for substantial FFXIV Gil to recharge and upgrade.
