Fortnite Scams You Should Pay Attention To And Avoid

Fortnite Scams You Should Pay Attention To And Avoid

Name something popular, and you can almost always find a way scammers are using it to steal from others. In this instance, the popular thing in question is Fortnite, a free-to-play third-person shooter made by Epic Games.

And the scams? Well, they vary. But the vast majority of them revolve around offering something for nothing. And with a game like Fortnite, which offers a lot of cosmetics for sale, a lot of players are very interested in getting things for free. The bad news is, they can't.

Below, you'll find a host of Fortnite scams employed by seedy individuals online. They may look like great deals up front - sometimes costing you nothing at all. But in reality, they're a front for something more sinister. They're schemes meant to separate you from your Fortnite account, steal your financial information, hack your phone, and more.

Read through them, take notes, and make sure you don't ever fall for them. You'll be glad you did.

Fake Android versions of Fortnite

Fortnite was already extremely popular before it released a mobile version. So you can imagine how many million rushed to download the game when it became available in the iOS App Store. The game's free-to-play nature meant that anyone with a working iPhone or iPad could jump in, and naturally, those on Android also began frantically searching the Google Play Store to see if a version was ready for them.

It wasn't, and still isn't. But that hasn't stopped some clever scammers from taking advantage of the situation.

Fake apps claiming to be the Android version of Fortnite have shown up both in the Play Store and on third-party app repositories. And unfortunately, they don't do anything in the way of gaming. Instead, they conceal malicious programs that operate in the background, doing everything from mining cryptocurrency to stealing personal information.

You absolutely want to avoid these apps. Instead of searching for something that doesn't exist, keep an eye on Epic's website for information on the Android version of Fortnite. The studio will undoubtedly post links to the official Play Store page when the Android version is published and ready to be downloaded.

Any scam involving free V-Bucks

Many games are offering goodies in the form of microtransactions these days, and Fortnite is one of them. Because the game doesn't cost anything to download and play, it has to drive revenue elsewhere. That elsewhere is through the sales of player outfits, emotes, and other cosmetics, which can be purchased with a currency called V-Bucks.

In Fortnite, V-Bucks are precious. Having them means you can buy things that help customize your character. And some have discovered that there are players who are desperate for V-Bucks - players willing to sign into websites that promise V-Bucks for free.

They don't. There is no such thing as free V-Bucks, and if you've logged into a third-party site to get them, you've been scammed out of your account details.

Why is this so dangerous? Because if you've ever made a Fortnite purchase in the past, there's a good chance your payment information is attached to your Epic account. Someone with your account information can then rack up tons of unauthorized charges in the game, and can later sell your account - along with all of the fraudulently purchased cosmetics - to someone else.

Save yourself the heartache. Don't go looking for free V-Bucks. Also, make sure to set up two-factor authentication.

"Help" from online players who really just want your account

Scammy websites aren't the only vehicles used to swindle Fortnite players. There are other players in the game, too, who are looking to take advantage of those who want to obtain more cosmetics, or simply want to get better at the game. In each of these situations, it's important to follow the golden rule of the internet: never, ever hand your personal information over to another individual.

As one teen discovered, his desire to get more stuff in Fortnite wound up creating a lot of problems for him, both inside the game and out.

Jake Bates, a 13-year-old from Ohio thought he'd hit the jackpot when another Fortnite player contacted him and offered him free skins. All Jake had to do, the player said, was provide the login and password to his Epic account. But the free skins never came. Instead, the player signed into Jake's account and promptly deleted his character.

Not only that, but the player who took over Jake's Fortnite account also accessed Jake's email account. Once he signed into that, he changed the password, locking Jake out.

Jake and his mother contacted Epic with a complaint about the scam, but the simple truth is, the issue could have been avoided entirely had Jake simply followed the golden rule.

Don't give your info out.

Players who are a little too chatty with children

As you learned in the story above, younger kids - and perhaps, maybe even some naive adults - can get taken by scammers who promise them free stuff. And it's not surprising to see these things pop up in a game that's extremely popular with a younger audience. But kids in Fortnite face an even greater threat than those looking to hack into their accounts.

According to The Telegraph, pedophiles have discovered that Fortnite is played by a lot of young children. And the UK's National Crime Agency is warning parents to stay on the lookout, citing an instance where a parent had to cut her child off from Fortnite after she discovered a man had offered the child £50 to "perform sex acts."

The danger here cannot be understated. If you have a child who regularly plays Fortnite, it's important to monitor their communications with other players to ensure someone older isn't stepping out of bounds.

Anyone who wants to know your phone number and wireless carrier

Here's an outrageous scam that, for the time being, only seems to affect Fortnite players on the Xbox One. And it can cost you a whole lot of money. The worst part? The scammer doesn't even need your Fortnite account information, or even your credit card, for that matter. All they need is your phone number, the name of your wireless carrier, and your cooperation.

Scammers in Fortnite often want to obtain things like Battle Passes and cosmetics for free. And some have discovered a way to get them by using the "carrier billing" option on the Xbox One. This allows Xbox Live charges to be billed to your wireless provider, bypassing a credit card entirely. These scammers will contact another player offering a way to get free stuff and will ask for a phone number and the name of the player's wireless carrier.

Once they add the phone number to their Xbox One, scammers then ask for the text message confirmation sent to the individual's phone. If they get it, carrier billing is all set up. And the worst part is, the items they charge might not even be noticed until the next phone bill rolls around.

Remember: free anything in Fortnite is almost certainly a scam. Don't fall for it.

Accounts being sold in exchange for Xbox Live or PSN codes

Fortnite scammers make use of many different channels, including the game itself and online services like Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. But recently, those who are out to scam other players have been showing up in local marketplaces, offering deals that are way too good to be true.

Elijah Imani, a 12-year-old from California, fell victim to one of these scams when someone offered to sell him a tricked-out Fortnite account. Elijah's scammer wanted a $50 PSN card in exchange for the account. But after Elijah sent him the code for the card, the scammer simply vanished.

Two things here. First, you don't want to provide anything of monetary value to anyone online without some rock-solid assurance that you're getting what you paid for. This usually takes the form of buyer protection policies - like on eBay - or escrow services like on other sites.

Secondly, there's a very good chance that any Fortnite account you purchase online has been stolen from someone else. Which means Epic could shut it down at any time. Save yourself the trouble: don't buy anything that Epic isn't selling you directly.

Any app or website claiming to provide free skins

Outside of Fortnite's main objective, which is to stay alive longer than everyone else, the game has a secondary mission that most players take up. It's the loot chase: the grind to level up a Battle Pass and obtain exclusive skins and V-Bucks, which can, in turn, be used to purchase more skins. Players, if they so choose, can buy all the Battle Pass tiers, but that can get expensive. So most look for cheaper shortcuts. If you haven't figured it out by now, there aren't any. Anything "free" is almost certainly fake.

But that hasn't stopped players from downloading apps and visiting websites that promise "free" Fortnite skins. One such website is called free skins. When players visit the site in search of their free skins, they're asked to input an email address, after which they're sent links to apps that they have to download. Those who take part are supposed to get their free skins after downloading the apps. But the skins never arrive. Instead, the website likely made some affiliate revenue for driving an app download, and the player gets nothing in return.

There are lots of sites like IFreeSkins out there. Not one of them is legitimate, even though bots have made their social media channels look official. Do yourself a favor and avoid these websites altogether.

Will The Fastansy Come Back In A Short Term?

Will The Fastansy Come Back In A Short Term?

You know why Square Enix decided to start working on the long-awaited Final Fantasy VII remake? To help the PlayStation 4 sell. Seriously. "Square Enix now has more PlayStation 4 titles," Final Fantasy VII director Tetsuya Nomura tells 4Gamer, "so we felt that we could increase the console's popularity."

Fast-forward a few years. Not only is the PlayStation 4 the clear winner in the current generation's console wars, but rumors suggest that Sony's machine is currently winding down in order to pave the way for the impending PlayStation 5. Final Fantasy VII, meanwhile, is still nowhere to be seen. It's a big game, of course. Instead of a flat-out remake, Final Fantasy VII is being rebuilt from the ground up with a brand new battle system, a deeper storyline, and a much bigger world to explore. There have also been production problems, and Nomura's been busy getting his other high-profile release, Kingdom Hearts III, ready for public consumption.

None of that has made the long wait any easier, and it doesn't look like relief is coming any time soon. Nomura says that development is going faster than expected, especially since Square Enix decided to move Final Fantasy VII's development in-house, but the game also skipped E3 2018. If Square Enix had something to show, they probably would've, and we're not expecting to see Cloud return until at least 2020 — and that's only if we're very, very lucky.

Gyro Inverted In Fortnite Makes The Game Unplayable For Pro controllers Gamers After 5.1 Patch

Gyro Inverted In Fortnite Makes The Game Unplayable For Pro controllers Gamers After 5.1 Patch

A critical bug has been existing in Fortnite since the v5.10 patch launched. It was concluded as “Motion control inverted and affects gyro movements, makes the game unplayable”. This topic started on 24th in the forums of Bug Report, following rapidly with over 100 comments and more than 5000 times views in one week. Thread mostly stood for the point of view that Epic had inverted the Motion Control for pro controllers’ users, X or Y axis didn’t work efficiently so that Gyro aims in the game were not available when operating the motion control. Some players indicated that the upgraded motion control is way better off for joy-cons, although joy-coins doesn’t fit for grown-ups ergonomically. Pro controller gamers complained about its X-axis movement malfunctioned, which possibly caused by the combination between Gyro and Stick axis in the 5.10 patch, already affected the gameplay and accumulated increasing criticism and grievances for many pro controllers’ users.

For pro controllers, Gyro Broken means the accurate aiming to targets can’t be accomplished whatsoever. Without aiming and terminating, Fortnite Battle Royale, for certain players, becomes a lousy Assassin’s Creed battlefield with horrible survival environment. Although with so many pleadings and requests from players demanding a quick response and timely remediation, the bug was failed to be removed after the Tuesday update by Epic Tech Support. Players who have been haunted for more than a few weeks were pretty outraged and wondered if Epic was still able to carry it out eventually or not.

Some solicitous consumers, actually, tried to resolve the problem in a different way. Whether or not the feasibility of their resolutions, some was enlightening in some ways. For example, one player suggests to play with pro controllers horizontally, not vertically like we used to do. However, most players stuck to ask for fixing it once for all - or going back to the previous version in this case. A few of viewers brought up Splatoon, a similar shooter game with Fortnite, which features much better motion control tech and playability:

“Splatoon (1 or 2) allows for both yaw and roll control for the X-axis. If you hold the controller flat and rotate it left (bring the left part towards you) your character looks left. If you prefer to hold the controller upright it is the same, when you bring the left part of the controller towards you your character looks left. Everything in between works too. It's very intuitive and both methods work as if you were looking through the controller. Splatoon's motion control is also very smooth, btw and equally good whether you use joy-cons or a Pro Controller.

In Fortnite, only roll control is allowed now. This means that when holding the controller flat you have to push the left side of the controller down to turn left and if you like to hold it upright, you have to bring the left side of the controller towards you to turn right, the opposite of what everyone expects. Yaw control was fine, I have no idea why it was removed.”

Daff Duck Finally Made it to A Zombie Apocalypse

Daff Duck Finally Made it to A Zombie Apocalypse

From a team including former designers of HITMAN and PAYDAY comes Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, a tactical adventure game that combines the turn-based combat of XCOM with a real-time stealth and exploration of a post-human world reclaimed by nature… and Mutants.

Of course, the world ends.

It was just a question of time. Extreme climate change, global economic crisis, a lethal pandemic, and increasing tension between old and new superpowers. For the first time since 1945 nuclear weapons were used in armed conflict. Mushroom clouds rose from east to west before the dust settled.

Now it’s over and the Earth is still. Nature has invaded ruined cities. The wind sweeps through empty streets, turned into graveyards.

The humans are all gone. Scavenging through the remains of civilization are the Mutants, deformed humanoids and animals alike, searching for salvation or just something to eat. To survive, you and your companions must venture out to explore the Zone.

Maybe one day you will find the Eden of legends, the ancients’ haven in the middle of hell. That’s where truth awaits, the stories say. Maybe you will find your answers there.

Then again, maybe it’s all bullshit.

TACTICAL COMBAT

Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is the ultimate fix for your tactical strategy addiction. Dive into a deep, turn-based, tactical combat system inspired by the XCOM games.

EXPLORE A POST-HUMAN EARTH

Journey through a post-human world of abandoned cities, crumbling highways, and overgrown countryside. Check back at the Ark, a neon-bathed oasis of ill repute and questionable characters, to restock your supplies and plan out your next adventure.

CONTROL A TEAM OF MUTANTS

A duck with an attitude problem and a boar with anger issues; these aren’t your typical heroes. Get to know Dux, Borman, Selma, and many other characters each with their own unique personality and deranged perspective on the world and their situation.

MASTER THE STEALTHY APPROACH

Sneak through shadows to avoid conflict or to catch enemies unaware. Real-time stealth allows you full control of approach: sneak into an enemy camp, position the team of Mutants to your advantage, and gain the element of surprise.

UNLOCK MUTATIONS

Unlock new mutations and abilities for your Mutants, such as Selma’s Stoneskin, Borman's Charge, and Dux‘ uncanny ability to sneak into a camp full of enemies unnoticed, despite being a 4-foot tall walking, talking duck with a crossbow.

DYNAMIC ENVIRONMENT

Use the environment to your advantage. Stay out of floodlights, hide from the line of sight, or just blast down fully destructible walls and buildings and wreak utter havoc.

LOOT, LOOT EVERYWHERE

From makeshift slingshots to high-powered rifles and top hats to police vests, make sure you equip your Mutants for the dangers ahead. Nothing says post-human quite like a mutated boar in spiked metal armor charging at you with a blunderbuss in his hands.

Easter Eggs You Missed In Fortnite

Easter Eggs You Missed In Fortnite

For the uninitiated, an Easter egg is a sort of secret tucked away inside a video game, waiting to be discovered by those who play. And an Easter egg can take many forms, from a simple room like the one found in Adventure on the Atari 2600 to the murderous ice cream truck found in Hitman: Absolution. Easter eggs are mostly meant to be fun, and with that in mind, it should come as no surprise that Fortnite - a game that screams fun based on its aesthetic alone - is chock full of them.

Fortnite's Easter eggs run the gambit in terms of what they accomplish. Some are mysterious, with their intent left to the imagination. Others are cheeky nods toward certain aspects of the game itself. And others act as tributes to past titles that Epic - the studio behind Fortnite and its popular Battle Royale spin-off - has worked on in the past. You'll find a smattering of these secrets below, documented along with our best guess as to what exactly they could mean.

Ready to find some Easter eggs?

Disco Fever

Fortnite's emotes are the stuff of legends, and because its Battle Royale off-shoot is free-to-play, it makes sense that Epic would concentrate on delivering solid dance moves to its player base. But do you know what also makes sense? Having a playable area to show off those dances. Perhaps a dance floor with lit-up tiles and a disco ball would do the trick?

That's exactly what you'll find in the Loot Lake Factory.

If you can get your squad to that location on the map, you'll notice four sets of glowing tiles in each corner of the Factory's floor. By dancing on all four tiles, you'll activate a disco ball, which rises up from the floor and provides your team a few seconds of disco-inspired fun. It's the perfect opportunity to show off the Floss emote you just purchased, but don't get too carried away: there's still a game to win, after all.

The most Unreal poster

Fortnite has permeated pop culture in a way that makes it feel inescapable. And because of that, some might believe that this title is what put Epic Games on the map. But the company has a long and storied history, and in no place is that more evident than in some of the Easter eggs found in its newest blockbuster.

In one particular house, you'll find a kid's bedroom that looks pretty inconspicuous. There's a bed, a dresser, and a poster on the wall. But if you look closely at that poster, you'll see that it's actually an aerial view of an Unreal Tournament map called "Facing Worlds." Epic, long before it struck gold with Fortnite, developed the Unreal series of games, and later went on to create the Unreal game engine that powers both Fortnite and its biggest competitor, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.

The poster is a small acknowledgment of the company's past, tacked to the wall of an otherwise normal-looking room. But it serves as a reminder that Epic has been doing shooters for a very long time.

A nod to Jazz

The Unreal series isn't all Epic can hang its hat on, either. For instance, did you know that Epic also developed the first four Gears of War titles? And that it was the studio behind retro-blaster Shadow Complex? Those are pretty well-known games, but they don't get any Easter egg love inside Fortnite. Instead, Epic chose to use the same medium it used for Unreal - a poster - to show some love to one of its earliest original IPs.

In another Fortnite bedroom, you'll find a poster with a gun-wielding rabbit on the wall. The letters above the character spell out "Jazz Jackrabbit," which might seem like a bit of in-game fiction to those unfamiliar with Epic's past. But Jazz Jackrabbit is very much real, having starred in two Epic-developed games that released in 1994 and 1998. If you're a curious gamer, you can pick up the Jazz Jackrabbit Collection on GOG, but we're not sure how well they hold up these days.

A large dinosaur footprint

The Fortnite team has been quite adept at dropping environmental Easter eggs into the game. And, as players have found out, those seemingly innocent Easter eggs can actually impact the game later on. Which is what makes this giant footprint, found between Snobby Shores and Greasy Grove, so intriguing. It looks like it could belong to a large dinosaur - perhaps a T-rex - but there aren't any dinosaurs in Fortnite.Yet.

Fan speculation on this Easter egg has been off the charts, and some are all but certain that there's at least one dinosaur roaming around inside Fortnite, even though it hasn't been spotted. One player believes the meteor impact that kicked off the arrival of Season 4 was actually the delivery of an enormous dinosaur egg, and that could make future iterations of the map very interesting if the theory holds true.

Of course, the footprint could just be in there for fun. And that would be okay, too.

This seemingly random hatch

Season 4 of Fortnite brought more than just a meteor strike to the in-game world. It also introduced some map changes that left fans scratching their heads. The most mysterious addition of the new season came in the form of a hatch, placed somewhat randomly in the middle of Wailing Woods. And no one can break into it, which means no one knows what's inside.

Many fans immediately drew parallels between this hatch and the one found in the TV series LOST, and while you're not likely to find Desmond Hume inside Fortnite's version, some believe that the hatch will play as large a role in the overarching Fortnite story as LOST's did in that universe. Perhaps the hatch contains a vault to protect someone - or something - from future meteor strikes. Or maybe the hatch alludes to other types of destructive events coming to the Fortnite world in the near or distant future. Whatever the case, players really want to know what's inside that hatch.

The Truckasaurus

There are two schools of thought when it comes to the inspiration for this truck monster, located between Retail Row and Lonely Lodge. Some believe this Easter egg is a tribute to Optimus Prime from Transformers. Others have noted the similarity it shares with The Truckasaurus, a machine that debuted in The Simpsons and went on to cameo in several Simpsons video games. And both sides have some compelling arguments.

However, most fans and Fortnite-related resources have taken to calling it The Truckasaurus and based on appearance alone, it seems this enormous entity has a lot more in common with the car-destroying Simpsons creation. It has the head of an 18-wheeler, though it differs in that its torso, along with its arms and legs, are made from other vehicles. But one has to keep in mind that this is the world of Fortnite, and someone likely built The Truckasaurus with whatever was lying around.

The real question we should be asking is this: how did they get it to stand up?

A Battle Bus that met its end

The Battle Bus is to Fortnite what the plane is to PUBG: it's the mode of transportation that gets you to the map, and it's what you leap from as soon as you've chosen your landing spot. But it should go without saying that buses are clearly not meant to fly, and no one should be shocked that a Battle Bus failed to remain airborne. Which is why you can find one that crashed just northeast of the Shifty Shafts.

The Battle Bus flies at a fairly high altitude, so it's pretty remarkable how little damage this one took after falling. There aren't any dents to speak of, nor are there any missing parts. The satellite dish, which should have broken off on impact, also remains intact. But realism aside, the crashed Battle Bus is a nice inside joke for players and an acknowledgment that, hey, not all of this wacky Fortnite tech works 100% of the time.

And you can usually find some decent loot on top of it, too.

#JusticeForOrangeShirtKid

When the people of the internet band together and work toward a common goal, anything is possible. And in the case of Fortnite, there's no better example of that than how fans rallied to right a certain wrong in an Epic-sponsored #Boogiedown contest. The contest promised that the winner would get his or her remote submission added to the game, and while the now-legendary Orange Shirt Kid didn't win, justice prevailed in the end.

Fortnite players, enamored with Orange Shirt Kid's dance - which is also a great exercise move - petitioned Epic via Change.org to add the dance as an emote in the game. And Epic listened.

Players signed in on May 1, 2018, to find that a new remote called "Orange Justice" had been placed into Fortnite's in-game store as a sort of Easter-egg-meets-meme tribute to the kid who had the guts to lay it all on the line.

Google Assistant plays Fortnite

Exactly how big is Fortnite right now? It's big enough that our artificial intelligence is playing it, apparently.

There's a pretty neat Easter egg hidden within the confines of the Google ecosystem - one that can only be discovered when a user queries Google Assistant on a mobile device or a Google-connected home speaker. By asking, "Where we dropping boys," you'll get a response from Google's AI that says, "I'll be dropping at Lucky Landing. Because I'm feeling lucky." Lucky Landing, of course, is the southernmost point on the Fortnite island, known for its stone buildings and the fact that not many people drop so far south. Now we know it's also the preferred drop spot for the AI combatants who set our alarms and play our Spotify music.

This Easter egg is a neat addition to Google Assistant, but we can't help but want more. Perhaps we can get a full voice-only version of Fortnite, sort of like Bethesda did with Skyrim? It's not clear how that would work, but it would certainly be entertaining.

Fortnite's Biggest Unsolved Mysteries: Have You Ever Got The Chance To Tear One of Their Masquerades Off?

Fortnite's Biggest Unsolved Mysteries: Have You Ever Got The Chance To Tear One of Their Masquerades Off?

If you're only playing Fortnite in order to win another hard-earned Victory Royale, you're missing out. Oh, sure, Fortnite: Battle Royale's 100-player winner-takes-all slugfests are among some of the most exciting, silliest, and just plain best things going in gaming. There's a reason why Fortnite has seemingly taken over the world. It's really dang fun.

But there's a lot more to Epic Games' incredibly popular take on the battle royale genre: in addition to the player-versus-player mayhem, it's got a story. A good one, even. You might just have to work a little to find it. As it turns out, Fortnite's alliterated map is chock full of secrets, and many fans spend just as much time trying to unravel the game's many mysteries as they have shooting at each other. Here are the mysteries that we can't wait to see solved, but be warned: in Fortnite, every answer leads to more questions. The rabbit hole is very, very deep.

The hatch

In Fortnite: Battle Royale, players fall from the sky onto a mysterious and deadly island filled with all kinds of mysteries. Sound familiar? Then you probably watched LOST, the '00s television phenomenon that hooked millions of viewers with its dynamic combination of soap opera-esque drama, unconventional storytelling structure, and all kinds of unexplainable weirdness.

Fortnite and LOST have more in common than just a premise and a big collection of unanswered questions, though. In May 2018, right around the time that Avengers big bad Thanos started wreaking havoc on Fortnite island, an unmarked hatch appeared in the game's Wailing Woods region. As the LOST faithful know, that's a foreboding omen. In the television show, a similar-looking hatch fueled many of the show's inaugural mysteries, while its contents- an underground bunker, as well as one very confused occupant - helped kick off its second season.

As of this writing, we still don't know what's inside of the Fortnite equivalent. While a few players have managed to get the thing open, the game still won't let anyone go inside (at least, not outside of glitches). Some people think that the hatch might just be a Half-Life 2 Easter egg, but no one knows for sure. It's not even clear if Epic has any idea. If not, they're in good company: at first, the LOST staff didn't know what was inside their hatch, either.

The SOS

At first, it seemed like a bug. When Fortnite: Battle Royale's 3.4 patch hit in late March, people playing on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 noticed that their controllers were randomly vibrating. Most players dismissed this as a glitch. Epic even said as much. The only option, the developer said, was to turn the force feedback on controllers off, to make sure that the unwanted shakes didn't interfere with all of the game's good old-fashioned killing.

But it wasn't a mistake. It was a message. As Reddit user Vigilancefoetracer discovered, the seemingly random vibrations were actually Morse code. After some quick decoding, Vigilancefoetracer deduced that someone calling for help. See, the translated message read "SOS D 5 418." Players quickly figured out what the first two parts of the code meant: D5 is the region of Fortnite's map where the Tilted Towers reside, while SOS is self-explanatory. The "418" was less obvious. Most people surmised that it was a date (April, 2018), and concluded that Twisted Towers would be destroyed by Fortnite's encroaching meteors sometime that month.

They were partly correct. A meteor shower did indeed hit Fortnite at the end of April, but the Towers (mostly) survived. Meanwhile, fans still don't know who sent the message, or how that individual knew about the meteor strike ahead of time. At this rate, they may never figure it out.

What they don't want us to know

The fourth wall-shattering controller stunt isn't the only time that Fortnite: Battle Royale flirted with coded messages. In late April 2018, just a few days before the meteors arrived, in-game televisions started broadcasting emergency message adorned with a Loot Pinata, Fortnite's single-player loot crate equivalent, and the game's de facto mascot.

Of course, this being Fornite, there was more going on here than it seemed. Players realized that an audio file played during the broadcast contained another helping of Morse code, and like the controller vibrations, it contained an ominous warning. According to those who translated the sounds, the hidden message says, "They don't want us to k" That final word isn't completely clear, but most fans assume that it's the beginning of "know."

But what don't they want us to know - and who are "they," anyway? So far, we've got no answers. Inspired by a line from Fortnite's single-player Save the World, many players are taking this to mean that Fortnite is home to some kind extraterrestrial threat. That fits — the whole hidden message and forbidden knowledge thing certainly has an Area 51-type vibe about it. Still, that's just a fan theory. We won't know what they don't want us to know until Epic spills the beans - unless, of course, they already have. Maybe the truth is out there. Maybe we simply haven't found it - yet.

The dinosaurs

Not all of Fortnite's mysteries come from the stars. A few have their roots in the past. Fortnite Season 5 introduced time travel to the game's increasingly complex storyline, but even before that, the game's been signaling that some of your favorite prehistoric creatures aren't as extinct as you think they are.

So, yeah, dinosaurs. We're talking about dinosaurs. Shortly before Season 5 began, a large animal skeleton appeared in Moisty Mire (which, as of Season 5, has been dried out and transformed into a desert), but even before that, there have been hints that so-called "terrible lizards" are lurking somewhere in Fortnite's world. Just a few days after Fortnite's meteor shower, fans found a giant footprint lurking just south of Snobby Shores, near where a house used to be. It's not the first time that the ancient critters have made an appearance in the game, either. Not only can fans purchase stylish Rex and Tricera Ops skins, but they could earn a dinosaur skull banner icon during the game's third season.

Of course, the whole dinosaur thing could just be some Hollywood magic. After all, the footprint is surrounded by one of the film sets that appeared during Season 4. At this point, it's hard to say exactly what's going on. That's what makes it a mystery!

The superheroes

Before Fortnite Season 4 became all about rockets and time-altering rifts - more on those in just a moment - superheroes took center stage. Not only could players earn exclusive superhero skins by completing the game's Battle Pass challenges, but lairs and secret hideouts started popping up all over the map, too.

In addition, Fortnite's season-specific loading screens, which players unlock by working through the Battle Pass, seemed to be telling a superheroic story: in one, Omega, the villain of the piece, broke out of prison. That ended up leading to a full-on superhero brawl, followed by a major plot twist: in the final loading screen featuring the characters, Omega is seen relaxing on a film set with Valor, one of his supposed foes.

What gives? We know that the rocket found in the supervillain lair is the real deal, given its profound effects on Fortnite's map (not to mention that it actually, y'know, flies), but the combination of the loading screens and imply that the whole conflict was all for the cameras. So, are Valor, Omega, Carbide, and the rest actual superheroes? And if they are, where the heck did they all go?

The visitor

Now, here's where things get really interesting. As previously mentioned, a meteor shower served as Season 4's big climax - and when the rocks started falling, Fortnite's real mysteries began. To begin with, these clearly aren't regular meteors. After particularly large meteorite demolished Dusty Depot, a shady government agency set up a camp around the interstellar projectile and started studying its effects. In addition, the impact site was surrounded by "hop rocks," physics-altering materials that launched players into the air. That's not normal. Something funny must be going on.

Things cleared up a little bit during the seventh week of Season 4 when it turned out that there was an escape pod in the meteor's core - and that whoever was riding in it escaped. According to Fortnite's Season 4 loading screens, which relay Fortnite: Battle Royale's story, the mysterious passenger is actually The Visitor, a strange character who also happens to be one of the special skins that Fortnite players can earn. After exiting the meteor, the Visitor made a beeline for Fortnite's supervillain hideout, where he launched the rocket that helped bring Season 4 to a close.

But who is The Visitor, and where did he - or she - come from? Are his motives pure, or is he up to no good? So far, that's all still unknown, although some of Fortnite's other mysteries might hold some answers.

The rocket and the rifts

So, the Visitor launched the rocket. If you logged in to Fortnite: Battle Royale on June 30, 2018, you might've watched it happen live. But here's the hard truth: you and countless others still don't know exactly what the rocket did. Oh, sure, you saw the projectile fly into the air and crack the sky wide open. You saw rifts appear on Fortnite's map in the following days, destroying the scenery and dropping items from throughout history all over the island.

And yet, you still don't know why the Visitor did what he did, and the rocket's true nature remains a mystery. There's more than simple time travel involved, too. Shortly after one of the rifts swallowed up Greasy Grove's big Durr Burger sign, the object was found in the real-life California desert. As Fortnite fans flocked to the location, mysterious agents appeared on-site, handing out business cards with phone numbers that play rift sounds when dialed, and which contain secret messages revealing the locations of some real, physical loot pinatas.

That's one hell of a promotional stunt, and yeah, the rifts might just be an excuse for Epic to spice up the Fortnite map with some cool landmarks - Viking ship, anyone? Still, judging by Fortnite's Season 5 trailer, the time and reality-bending cracks will also play a big role in the game's Season 5 storyline. How, exactly, remains to be seen.

The storm

Let's take a step back. Before Fortnite: Battle Royale had an ongoing storyline, it was easy to dismiss the game's odd set-up. It didn't really matter why people were jumping out of flying buses and shooting each other. It was fun. That's all that mattered.

Now that Fortnite: Battle Royale has honest-to-goodness stories and lore, however, we've got some questions. The Fortnite map is full of abandoned houses, empty buildings, and closed businesses. So, where did all of the people go? It seems like there's a link between Fortnite's complete lack of non-player characters and the ominous storm that slowly closes in on Battle Royale players and offs them if they spend too much time in its violet rays, but without more evidence, that's just conjecture.

An explanation could be on the way, though. In addition to the Battle Royale, Fortnite also has a cooperative mode known as Save the World, and storms pop up there, too, although they work a little differently. Instead of making the maps smaller, Save the World's storms spawn monsters that players must work together to defeat. It's also why 98% of the population disappeared, although it's not clear where the victims went. There's a very good chance that the two storms are related, and while Save the World hasn't revealed the storm's origins yet, the information could have profound effects on Battle Royale's plot if it ever surfaces.

The aliens

Maybe there's one big mystery that ties all of Fortnite: Battle Royale's various unknowns together. Maybe this is all related, and maybe it's building to one giant revelation one with intergalactic origins.

Outside of the Visitor, aliens haven't played an immediately obvious role in Fortnite's evolving story, but little hints have popped up here and there that indicate that extraterrestrials are very, very involved in the ongoing plot. There's the aforementioned hidden message. Before the meteor struck, players saw UFOs hovering around the descending objects. At least one Fortnite resident must've seen 'em too because they left a heart sign welcoming the aliens to Earth on a Tilted Towers rooftop. During the rocket launch, some players heard alien-like voices. When Kotaku asked what the meteor was, Epic responded with a picture of Giorgio A. Tsoukalos, a television personality best known for spouting insane theories on the History Channel's Ancient Aliens.

Those small pieces add up, and if there's not something otherworldly going on in Fortnite, we're going to be very, very surprised. Look at it this way: if Thanos, a native of the planet Titan, can make an appearance in Fortnite, it stands to reason that other visitors may not be far behind. Heck, we've already met one of 'em. From all indications, that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Halo Infinite: A Resurrection for Halo Predecessors Or Another Step Forward To Its Destined Doom?

Halo Infinite: A Resurrection for Halo Predecessors Or Another Step Forward To Its Destined Doom?

Microsoft held an XBOX briefing and announced the new series of Halo- Halo Infinite 3 weeks ago. Based on the debut trailer - it got some good reasons that the new one hadn't been named as "Halo 6". The new art style, bring the master chief back, powered by the Slipspace engine, One AI chip inserted back to his helmet instead of his old partner Cortana. Even with those innovated highlights, the argument after its trailer launching hasn’t been ceased, about what kind of gameplay it will bring to the fans and the judgment for the whole series of Halo. And now it’s about to get nastier.

Some loyal players, considered as “fanboys of Halo” by opponents, insisted that Halo gonna thrive again in the new game, and as was expected, reaching to its resurrection and win all the players back. Some even pointed out, the latest series of Halo, known as Halo 5, has a rich universe, great story and balanced multiple combat system compared with its predecessors, got taunted immediately by another viewer. Other crew stood up against the former compliments, saying the game is already dead for good, and yet the fans still living in denial. “trial and error”, that is the conclusion and judgment for the Halo latest series by the doubters. Some followers indicated that Halo infinite can be possible for Battle Royale mode, which unexpectedly touches other viewers’ nerve of loathing epidemic Battle Royale games and extremely standing for the classic Halo style, involved with slashing denouncements of Call of Duty.

Other criticism focus on the path of Halo that 343 industries went through, kindly warning the pitfalls it should avoid and fix, especially the fifth. Drip-fed content, a poor campaign, and steep grinding for unlocks are the three critical issues that remained in Halo 5 tightly, hopefully, can get rid of in Halo infinite. Even if the fifth seemed to be an easy target for all disagreements, there are some still well-known characteristics it has, such as mechanics, multiplayer design, the largest content etc. Although many players reached into an agreement that 343 industries need to provide a “4-way-split-screen” and “2-way-split-screen Co-Op” in halo infinite version as its priority, to avoid a snowslip-ish failure in the future.

An Used-To-Be Fantasy And Carrion For Gamers Now: 2-Year Operation Experience For Revelation Online

An Used-To-Be Fantasy And Carrion For Gamers Now: 2-Year Operation Experience For Revelation Online

The following reviews are several classic points of views listed on Youtube for Revelation Online 2-year operation:

"I love the game, the game itself is amazing, the combat is nice, the PVP is nice, I like almost everything in the game. I am an endgame player of RO, listed on the top might score in my server snowpine. But my.com destroyed the game. They handle every single part of the game poorly. I could stay all day long here writing all the bad choices they made, but in the end, it just feels like they don't even know how to manage the game. It's funny. They don't know how to deal with the gaming code or they don't have enough people to deal with it, obviously. The company had to put up new stuff in the cash shop through the site instead of the in-game shop because they claimed to break the game if they did so. They cant restore ANY item that u might lose in the game through bugs or not, they don't know how to do it so because their support team is the WORST EVER IN EXISTENCE OF EARTH. They don't understand the game, they don't even know how to TEST the future patches they going to implement, its a fiasco every time they put up a new patch and ALWAYS a huge amount of crucial things in the game break! The chats, the cash shop, the quests, the reset of ascension stones/Nyx, even the "whispers" they took 7 to 8 months to fix (might as well say that it was working feature in CLOSED BETA). The ways of breaking the game are never enough. They ALWAYS find a new way, even unlocking the level up when it was not supposed to be unlocked. Not to mention their shit "events" where the rewards are delivered through the site inventory but u ALWAYS have trouble receiving them IF u ever receive them! In my opinion, the game itself is almost flawless. My.com is the WORST company I EVER DEALT within my almost 10 years of playing MMOs. It's beyond sad. It discourages everyone that even try to play the game. Not even to mention the p2w shit. I just hope NetEase realize that or the game end up getting sold to another company since the population decrease every month is so crazy that in my server there are only 2 guilds to compete with each other. In Darkfall server has only 1 guild for the longest time now. Don't even wanna know how Divine Overlook is dealing with all of this crap. It's just funny and sad at the same time."

"Revelation Online was a great game at first but sadly I had to quit like any other player would cuz of bot spammers and limited dungeons, grindings and untranslated quests, there were 4 servers on EU and 2 of those servers closed, I played until I got lv 50 and later on there is pretty much nothing for you to do... I mean there is the main quest but you cant do it with friends and you are too weak to do it solo, you dont get any exp from “zone” monsters and you constantly have to repeat the same dungeon every day which gets boring, even tho the game is fully released there are still bugs and glitches that need fixing, like: portals dont work, ghost houses, slow render, unpopulated town aka ghost towns, dead AI, long range mele attack...(literaly stands 10 meters away from me, swings his sword and hits me)...(the same thing goes when flying, im far above his head and he fucking hits me with a mele attack and stuns me)...unlimited jumping, diving under water for few seconds and losing health even tho the oxygen bar is still 70% full, monster range attacks following you and going throu walls and objects, even tho its tab target sometimes it breaks down and says that target is not in line of sight, unable to trade with friends.....and other things, dont want to write an entire biografy bout it...so basicaly I got feed up with all this shit and quit the game."
