Football Five-Substitute Rule Was Extended Until August 2021

Affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, many major international football matches have to be delayed. Since May, the International Football Association Board and FIFA have proposed to temporarily change the rules, increasing the number of substitutions allowed in a fixture from three to five, in order to protect player welfare.
FIFA confirmed that the five-substitute rule has been extended by July 31, 2021, and the international competitions scheduled in July/August 2021. That is, teams in the 2020-21 season are still able to make five substitutions in a match until August 2021, along with the European Championships and Copa America next summer.
Furthermore, in order to minimize disruption to the game's rule, a team will still have only three chances to make five changes in a match.
Before the 2020-21 season, some competition in 2020 may have a shorter start than usual, the top leagues won't come until mid-September, while the Champions League group stage matches have also been pushed to October.
FIFA 21 has a release date on October 9, delayed by about half a month due to the coronavirus pandemic, but on October 6, there will be early access for those who pre-order the game to play in advance, which would be available on PS4, Xbox One, PC and the next-gen consoles, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
