In ACNH, you can do a lot of interesting things on your island, such as planting flowers, cleaning the beach, and decorating some areas with different furniture and decorations. In the fall of 2020, the Animal Crossing update introduces a crop tending mechanic. You can create a pumpkin patch between fruit baring trees. However, the farming mechanic should be unlikely to appear in Animal Crossing.

Because many villagers are traditional barn animals, and the villagers are creatures such as chickens, ducks and cows, it would be a bad practice to try to integrate livestock-keeping mechanics into the gameplay.
