Halo TV Series Coming to Showtime

Rumored back in 2013, a Steven Spielberg produced live-action Halo series was supposedly coming to Showtime. Those rumors have finally come true.
Yesterday, 343 Studios and Showtime officially confirmed a new upcoming Halo TV series.
The 10 episode season will have Kyle Killen as executive producer, writer, and showrunner with Rupert Wyatt directing multiple episodes.
Showtime President and CEO David Nevins announced the network has ordered for the 10 episode season. Each episode is set to be an hour long.
Will full production set for early 2019, Showtime President and CEO Davis Nevins spoke excitedly about the project:
“Halo is our most ambitious series ever, and we expect audiences who have been anticipating it for years to be thoroughly rewarded,” said Nevins. “In the history of television, there simply has never been enough great science fiction. Kyle Killen’s scripts are thrilling, expansive and provocative, Rupert Wyatt is a wonderful, world-building director, and their vision of Halo will enthrall fans of the game while also drawing the uninitiated into a world of complex characters that populate this unique universe.”
Kiki Wolfkill of 343 Studios has also commented on their team’s excitement in a post on Halo Waypoint:

We are excited to navigate these creative waters to bring you something that is both respectful of what you already know and love, but also new and surprising and enthralling.
The series will be produced by Showtime in association with Microsoft, 343 Industries, and Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television. Along with Killen, Rupert Wyatt, Scott Pennington, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank will executive produce. There is no premiere date yet.
