Back on May 29 2014, EA released its own Ultimate Team: World Cup mode – and much better yet, it didn’t cost a penny.

It arrived to be a free update – a welcome change given how strongly EA leans about the in-game purchase model.

The mode featured players and kits coming from all 32 teams collaborating. It even included the state run adidas® Brazuca match ball and Estadio do Maracana in Rio.

There were new player items, too – with updated player images plus a fresh World Cup theme to produce your squad get noticed. Some players even received updated stats to the World Cup alone.

But it gets better.

Back then, there was clearly a two-for-one promotion on FUT packs – which meant you've got a free normal Gold pack in each and every World Cup pack opened.

Yes, you read that right.

You could possibly play over the full tournament online or offline, in the groups to your knock-out stages. Incredible.

Please accomplish this, EA.
